Women tend to look at men in terms of how successful they are, what sort of job they have, how much money they make. That's how men and women judge each other at a very superficial level. I think it's OK to use the elements to attract the opposite sex in the very beginning.

That's solidly red pill if you ask me. Props to him for creating his (fledgling) empire.

And I can understand how he was no good with women. One of my students is a patent lawyer in DC making $1M a year and he's only kissed one girl. He spent his entire life studying and working that he never had time to work on himself in any other capacity, and now he's a 30 year old virgin, or at least he was when I taught him. With his kind of income the quality and quantity of women he can attract is through the roof if he just understood how to capitalize on it. That's where I come in.

He saw a need and filled it, got money and a wife. He's also red pill in his beliefs. Well done.

His site or a hooker...same difference. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

Dude went to MIT to invent this shit. Just want to point that out.

[–]updock 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

And he earns much more than the average MIT grad. What's your point?

[–]RejectionEquality1 points 12 years ago* [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

The point is it's a waste of an MIT degree and he should be ashamed of himself. I strongly doubt there are a lot of complex algorithms that are running those sites. He should be working for NASA or some other high-brow engineering / scientific firm or lab for fuck's sake. Anyone could create Web sites like those. He could have saved himself a bundle of cash by not even going to college. A roach could be successful at business.

[–]updock 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

There are 10 colleges better than or as good as MIT in the US. Each one churns out 1000-2500 students every year. Not all of them will be massively successful. The majority won't even earn six figures.

You're joking, right?

I'm all for capitalism but let's leave the Get Rich Quick schemes to business grads. Geekdom is a meritocracy.

The glitter of gold is not what draws people to MIT or other upper-echelon STEM schools. If mommy and daddy didn't bribe the school to take you, you studied your ass off to get there not because you wanted to be rich, but because you truly loved your field and had a passion for it. Being a geek is a helluva lot more than how much money you make. It's about being able to do Calculus forward and backward in your head.

I was taking 18 credit-hours of nothing but math and physics senior year at a run-of-the-mill university, not an Ivy League one. I literally had no social life whatsoever. Would I have gone to MIT if I had the opportunity? You bet your sweet ass I would. For the experience. For the education. Not for the money. Why didn't I? 1. Not rich, 2. 3.6 GPA, which is good but not nearly good enough even to apply.

I certainly wouldn't hinder the guy from pursuing the goal he's obtained, but I'm just not impressed by this accomplishment. Or by how fat his wallet is or how fat it's going to be. And I don't think many other geeks would be impressed by this non-technical display of self-absorption. Not everyone's a Ferengi.

I dunno, maybe ... show us the code? But like I said, I doubt it's very impressive.

Whoa, fuck. How many of these Chinese niggas did we know in school!!!

[–]AlmostRP 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What a phenomenal idea and great execution of the basic principals we find here. It's like inventing a paper clip. Awesome.

My question is, When does the blatant "exchange" factor become so bare and bold that it has negative effects on society? I think that if gender relationships develops towards the norms of these websites, even if they are in keeping with RP truths, we also lose some of the "mystery" that unites the sexes through the experience of personal love, and we start to regard ourselves as merely our functions, rather than human beings.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't think it will ever become mainstream. Not because NAWALT, because close enough, but because over the course of things women benefit more from maintaining the facade of "romance" and "mystique" than they would from opening up direct common market principles.

A: Market economics would dictate that only the minority top end women could command high prices. They will be shamed by the majority, jealous beta women who can't, and since women fear social exclusion above all else, they'll fall in line.

B: This would be trading short term gain for massive long term loss. Once this is laid bare it will be a LOT harder to reel in a beta provider and pretend not to be a whore when their value is low. They'd be cashing in their retirement funds.

[–]Endorsed Contributornyrp 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, I think you're right. I think are many reasons something so market-y won't work for the mainstream.

I hope you're right and we're not just bar coded with an SMV that we upload to the cloud and update through an app.

These nightmare dystopias, thankfully, never quite come to fruition.

WTF? Can't tell if you are a blue piller who needs to stay a lurker or a troll.

[–]Endorsed Contributornyrp -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Really not. Totally RP. But I think we can acknowledge there is a difference between organic dating and attraction, and a website pairing people exclusively on statistics, even if those statistics are chosen based on RP truths.

I don' think there's anything Blue Pill about believing that the attraction between men and women is something that, though founded on biological imperatives, also transcends it. Otherwise, we're just robots.

RP is strategy, not metaphysics.

[–]Nemester 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

you aren't red pill dude. Go back to /r/bluepill or just lurk. You are going to confuse new guys with nonsense about true love and "transcendence". What a joke.

[–]Endorsed Contributornyrp 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

All I'm saying is dating via a website where your qualities are quantified sounds a little Blue Pill. Oh, I hope the algorithm gets me laid.

If the whole dating market went online, I think it would make life more boring.

I'm not talking about "transcendence" per se. I'm talking about the elements of life that are above biology. Life goals, accomplishments.

Sex is, by its nature, always partially transcendent because the possibility of a child transcends the act itself, which ends at orgasm.

It has been established that LTRs and marriage are not anti RedPill. Marriage transcends biology because it is not merely biological to stay with one person your whole life. Don't try to shame me, dumb troll. Sit down.

[–]Nemester 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I am not talking about the website. Paying for chicks is really blue pill.

And so are you for a different reason.

All of this talk about transcendence and "life above biology" is ridiculous. There is no life outside of biology, there is no transcendence, there is no soul. You are deluded in a blue pill fantasy land.

[–]Endorsed Contributornyrp 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

2+2=4

That fact is non biological. It is abstract and rational.

I am able to understand that fact.

Therefore my life transcends biology.

Everybody knew this in the past. What the hell happened to our education system. I guess it's good to make drones if you get everyone to believe they are totally governed by biology.

But the whole notion of free will transcends biology. If you truly believe biology is all we are, you can't choose to improve your life because you can't choose anything freely.

I'm not trying to overturn anything RP. RP theory itself assumes we have free will. Free will is not biological.

If you don't believe in free will, you can't really be RP.

I'm not saying you're not RP but you haven't really studied the way mind works. Nor does it sound like you have a philosophical background to study objective reality.

So just calm down and stop shouting inanities because you don't have the same view on philosophical subjects. We're taking about sexual strategy here. Not debating the soul and God. For what it's worth, many people of TRP are religious to some degree or another. And I don't think you'd be very welcome here any more if you call them all blue pill because they believe in the soul.

Blue pill is regarding sexual strategy, not metaphysical belief.

Sloppy thinking is not something women find attractive in men.
