So I’ve been following the Harvey Weinstein trial over the past week. If you have been living under a rock, the allegations are that Harvey raped several women over the course of his long career using his power and influence. His victims basically started the #metoo movement.

Witnesses have included alleged victims, and a prosecution “expert” who seems to be nothing more than a grandstanding feminist who basically testified that consent is fluid and the victims cannot be held responsible for their actions, specifically them continuing to be in contact with the alleged perpetrator, and in some cases continuing in consenting sexual relations after the alleged assaults.

As the case continues I have no doubt there will be more of the same allegations that he forced himself on these women, yet they continued to remain in Weinstien’s presence for years after. As I try to remain an objective observer of the facts, it seems that this trial is a crusade against men. A dangerous precedent that women can use their hyper famous nature for personal gain, then years later accuse the man who’s power they used to attain fame/status/money of assault when the man is no longer useful to them is about to be set.

I wanted to start a dialogue on this to see what the community’s thoughts on this are. And if you can, I highly recommend reading testimony of this case as this is a true cautionary tale and a warning all men should heed.
