On January 7, the Secretary of the Navy Mr. Ray Mabus issued a memo to the Chief of Naval Operations and the Commandant of the Marine Corp. Body

Effectively this memo call for the removal of the word "man" from many of the Navy and Marine Corp job titles (ie, Corpsman). In an attempted to include women in the traditional boys club, the SecNav is throwing tradition out, and demonstrating that we need to walk on eggshells least we offend females.

This is the straw that is breaking the camel's back. The change it's self is pretty minor, but even prior to this memo, the Navy has been enforcing strict rules to make women feel safe. Gone are the crude stories of port visits to Bangkok. Gone are the shop wrestling matches and fan room "counselings". Gone are many forms of male bonding and forms of creature comfort that men used to cope with being away from home and in stressful situations.
