The Red Pill and Monogamy?

The Red Pill is a lens through which we view the realm of human sexual dynamics. It's a set of tools for us to use in the arena of sexual strategy. It's a mindset to keep ourselves true to our masculine, Alpha frame. It isn't an ethical framework, something that tells us 'you should do this because it's right' and 'you shouldn't do that because it's wrong'.

I'm Red Pill. I've swallowed it all the way down, and it came quite easily because once I knew the truth, it unlocked everything I'd always sensed but never understood about myself. In those first days of having the Red Pill in my system, however, I thought I needed to change my outlook. My Blue Pill years had been filled with two conflicting ideals: the stoic, celibate hermit that doesn't need anyone; and the doting family man that worships his goddess wife and raises up beautiful children. So when I took the Red Pill, there was a short period that I rejected both these ideals, and instead went after the Bull Alpha ideal: the one night stand, endless pussy, nothing but parties and sex and brotherhood and independence.

But this phase didn't last, for me. It's not how I'm wired. Many members of this community are wired for this, and that's okay because we're all men and we each have different stories to tell. Each of us strives to be the best man we can be; but that manifests differently in every one of us.

I want a legacy. To me, one part of that legacy needs to be family: a wife and children. I'm not married, nor will I marry legally when I feel the time has come - there's no upside to legal marriage in this day and age - but I do actively pursue women I'm interested in vetting for the title of Wife. Swallowing the Red Pill gave me the tools to take every advantage at my disposal in pursuing this goal, just as it gives others the tools to pursue the goals of spinning plates or picking up one night stands.

Right now, I'm in a relationship with a woman. She knows what I want out of life, because Alpha is pursuing your goals fearlessly. She knows she's being vetted and the decision lies with me, because Alpha is mastery over your own life. She knows the kind of man I am, and the kind of woman I desire to have in my life. And all of this is wonderful, because I'm not tied to the idea of this woman as perfection - the way I was in my Blue Pill relationships. I am tied to myself and I will build myself up at all times. If I don't select this woman, there will be others after her. I am confident in my masculinity, and in my game, and in my self-worth. That's what the Red Pill has unlocked for me.

Okay - I need to say first, theres a difference between seeking an SO, seeking a relationship, and seeking a pickup. The method isnt so different, but the goals are.

Monogamy is what you get (in western culture, most of the time, anyway) when you pick an SO and get married. Theres good reasons for that.

TRP isnt about telling you what kind of relationship to seek out. If you want relationships, youre still RP. RP isnt a doctrine. Its a series of techniques that have been tried and proven, and its a discussion ground for various issues and whatnot. Were not here to tell you what to do.

Red pill is what you make of it. I'm wired for non-monogamy / polyamory, but many people are not (and that's okay). From a TRP standpoint, I think it's just important that guys understand the pros and cons of both. Unfortunately, many guys don't understand the pitfalls of monogamy.

Furthermore, I will never be monogamous, but fully intend to get married and start a family. My primary partner (who's also very red pill) is all good with the situation.

PUA here. I practice a non-traditional variant of polyamory that allows for sex and affection without requiring drama, commitment, or even much communication. More information here, if you're curious.

In a monogamous relationship:

The woman can withhold sex whenever she doesn't feel in the mood, and there's nothing you can do.
The woman is more likely to cause drama: get in arguments, call you names, escalate physical violence, have opinions, correct your decisions, and otherwise put you on the defensive.
The woman is less likely to make the same effort to keep you around that she did when you started going out, because she knows she has you.

For every 100 guys getting married in a given year, there are 50 other people getting divorced.
What's more, every single guy who got married believed that he could beat the odds. No matter how smart you are, no matter how well you communicate, no matter what a good girl she is, you will still never have better than a 50% chance to make the marriage last.

When a relationship ends, it can hurt like a motherfucker. Having a support group of other women that give you sex and affection can help soften the blow.

When a marriage ends (50/50 chance, remember?) it costs time and money, as well as taking its emotional toll on you. If you have any children, it is very difficult for a male to get custody.

TL;DR Monogamy sucks.
