Some women require more effort than others. I've seen posts here and in askrtp that advise nexting way earlier than I believe is prudent. This is a personal example of how persistence can really pay off.

I think this post will be most helpful for newbies trying to understand RP game, though there will probably be a nugget or two of wisdom that veterans can learn from.

I see way too many posts and comments in TRP subs, especially asktrp, that advise nexting a girl at the slightest provocation. I think this has a detrimental effect, especially on minds new to TRP that don't yet have the understanding of game, abundance mentality, or SMV to translate such advice into beneficial action. People talk about the "Brad Pitt rule" or the "rockstar rule" where essentially if a girl doesn't treat you like Brad Pitt, she isn't worth your time. Things like "she didn't grab drinks with you even though she has to wake up early tomorrow for work? She would for Brad Pitt. Next her." get thrown around way too often. I'd like to share my story of the past few days on how persistence, and not immediately nexting a girl, can pay off.

I'm currently in college, and met a HB6 through one of my clubs. At one of the club meetings, we met and talked/flirted for an hour or two. After the meeting, I invited her back to my apartment for drinks, but she said she needed to study and couldn't. At this point, if I were asking for advice in asktrp, I'd probably be told to next her. That's ridiculous. I didn't bother getting her number since I knew I'd see her again at the next club meeting.

A day or two later, she ended up finding me on Facebook and asking me a stupid question about the club. I answered and, and segued the conversation into inviting her to my apartment for drinks that weekend. She said she had too much work and couldn't.

Later that week, I FB messaged her again to see if her weekend had opened up at all. It hadn't. She went on and on about how swamped she was between her job, her schoolwork, etc. I remained undeterred. She had mentioned that she was at work (some university job where she just mans a desk for several hours). Half an hour or so before her shift ended, I swung by her desk and chatted for the rest of her shift. After her shift ended, I again invited her over. Again, she's too busy.

Now I'm sure most of you are silently screaming at me to give up and let it go, she's clearly not interested. I honestly think most guys here have way too low a threshold for the amount of effort they're willing to put in. It's one thing for the guys who are pulling 3 nights a week and have 5 consistent plates, but for the newbies here who aren't at that level yet, this environment of "if she's not immediately receptive, try again with someone else" can be quite harmful.

Anyway, she messages me an hour later about how stressed she is. I tell her the offer still stands and that she needs to blow off some steam. She agrees and decides to come over. We start watching a movie on my couch, but I'm not getting any IOI's. I have my arm around her, but her arms are crossed and she isn't making very much eye contact. I think, "fuck it, might as well just escalate and see what happens." So I do. I put my hand on her upper thigh. No response. Start twirling her hair in my fingers. Still nothing. Eventually I just went for the kiss. She wasn't even looking at me and to be honest I half expected her to storm out immediately. Well, she didn't. We fucked. Twice. Now she's been texting me today non-stop and wants to hang out again tonight.

Lessons Learned

  • Don't immediately give up at the slightest setback, regardless of what others here would have you think

  • Escalate until you either fuck or she rejects you. This is thrown around a lot her, and with good reason. Doesn't matter if you're not getting the big doe eyes and what have you.

  • Persistence is not a necessarily beta trait. It's all about context.
