Feminists are the most sexist people on earth. They think that all women are mindless retarded monkeys and can't make up their mind on what type of profession they want to have on any knowledge other than the commercials they watch. No one belittles women more than feminists.

NOW LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING... SIR..

You got a good point.

[–]Endorsed ContributorInvalidity7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Even if there were female engineers, females would rip them apart.

"Why are they so ugly?"

[–]through_a_ways5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

or alternatively, "Why are they so pretty?"

"They're going to end up alone with cats!"

I absolutely hate these scenarios, women are better at some jobs and men are better at others, you don't see any men going to hooters and protesting cause he wants to be a waiter and the industry is so full of women?

I've talked with people that have studied their asses off learning to work for a career or company and ends up not getting hired strictly because "there is a need for women in the company" even though the woman hired was way less qualified and tried way less to get the job.

Also this screed mildly inspires me to protest against hooters for not hiring me as a waiter..

There was a lawsuit.

"After pointing out that even in 2011 Norway, virtually all nurses are women and most every engineer is a man, comedian-turned-documentarian Harald Eia interviewed various “experts” about the phenomenon. He then learned of research indicating a strong biological basis for sex-specific job preference."

[–]-XDerekX- 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

You don't really need to research to see it but if you look at the nature of men and women and what skills are required for each job most jobs are suited for a specific gender.

you mean sex not gender

[–]Kubomi1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

The American Heritage Stedman's Medical Dictionary:

gender gen·der (jěn'dər) n. The sex of an individual, male or female, based on reproductive anatomy.

[–]NeoPlatonist[S] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

lol how many dictionaries did you have to go through. say sex, not gender.

man or woman is sex, and means which sexual organs you have.

male or female is gender, and is much different.

[–]-XDerekX- 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well actually what I said works for both 'sex' and 'gender', thinking about it now.

[–]Kubomi0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

The first medical dictionary i came across... No i will say gender or sex since they are interchangeable terms in this context.

The other dictionary i had at hand just referred to gender in terms of grammar: He—She, Him—Her, etc.

These semantics don't affect anyone in terms of personal identity. People can still choose to identify with whatever the fuck they want, male, female, otherkinwhateverthefuck; i don't care.

you are displaying a remarkable level of ignorance

[–]Kubomi0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

You're the one arguing against the medical dictionary. If you want to deflect that by attaching a dismissive label to me so be it.

[–]NeoPlatonist[S] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

lol really. there's nothing medical about gender, so in a medical dictionary equating it to sex is reasonable, but completely useless in any discussion outside the practice of medicine on bodies. TRP isn't exactly a subreddit for doctors to discuss their practice, so your employment of a medical dictionary is bizarre. Regular people just google a word and use a definition from wiki or dictionary.com or merriam. That you kept digging down to a medical dictionary to get the definition you wanted for sake of argument is pretty telling.

[–]Kubomi1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

In regular dictionaries it is also listed as informal usage to use it as the same for sex. Yes a medical dictionary is perfectly rational to use in the context of something relating to human physiology, which gender/sex does.

Rather telling that you just keep attempting to use ad hominem rather than support your assertion that they mean completely different things. You called me ignorant and now are saying i am strange, neither of which relate to this discussion.

[–]NeoPlatonist1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

yes. your arguments are completely futile. how does all that stupid fit inside your head? "oh noes an ad hominems!"

we talk about sex and gender differently. they are two words, similar, but not the same concepts. if you want to wave a medical dictionary around be my guest but don't expect anyone to take you seriously.

sex is human physiology. gender is different.

[–]Kubomi1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Nope not different. Obviosuly the argument is futile with you, im glad you admit you cannot support your arguments logically but only with character assaults and unsubstantiated claims. Have a good life with your myopic mind.

[–]NeoPlatonist1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

lol you are a funny guy

[–]NakedAndBehindYou0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

male or female is gender, and is much different.

Only according to post-modern sociology, which is hand in hand with modern feminism.

[–]NeoPlatonist[S] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

not really. in fact, as you see women 'fight the patriarchy' and gain more power you see them begin to take on male traits. these sorts of people are not 'feminists'. they do not seek to promote the spread and tolerance of female traits throughout society. they simply want people born with vaginas to have more power. this is not feminism, but womanism
