Just read the number back to her with one digit changed and if she says that's the right number chances are she's turning you down.
Nothing wrong with being turned down, just means she's not into you or you fucked up somehow.

Odds are they aren't paying attention closely when you're repeating it back. Remember the onus is on you to get the number right not on them to confirm it.
If you really want to be a dick whip your cell phone out and call the number right away. It should ring in her pocket. If not just smile at her and be like "You know a simple no would have sufficed" and walk away because she never wanted it in the first place.

I don't understand why this is even necessary. I'm actually with the women here. I haven't been refused a phone number or given a fake one in over a decade. This isn't because I'm so gorgeous and funny and awesome that every girl wants to give me her number; it's because I can tell when a girl wants to give me her number and I don't ask until and unless I'm getting the signs. Any guy who gets pushy, butt-hurt, or especially violent in response to being turned down for a number is BP to the max. Remember your eject line, with a smile: "It was a pleasure meeting you," and then walk away.
(Note: Feminists shouldn't find anything objectionable in what I just wrote, but they will still come to this sub and cherry pick quotes and lump us all together as brutish misogynists.)

I totally agree. Some men do spit some really bad game. I know I wouldn't wanna be on the receiving end of that from a woman's perspective. I'm still not perfect by any stretch, but I know to look for signs or take the L accordingly. For me, the worse case scenario was just getting a number and not having her respond. I never got any rejection hotline numbers or any crap like that.
I do have my looks going for me, so maybe that's why.

Whatever helps them sleep at night. I just wonder what the phone line is getting out of this? Think about it, this could be an easy way to make money off of feminists. The guy texts her, feminist hotline charges for the message, steals money from some bloke who just wanted to meet a nice gal. Easy scam.

The trend is awful and we are going in a direction where women are gods and we are savage beast who can't handle rejection.
Since there is no alternative for men, and it has feminist annotation were men are oppressors its a very bad thing and we are headed in a downward spiral.

This really is infuriating in a way. I'm tryin to have a little sympathy for the guys who don't possess raw natural talent in these areas. There's a good number of guys out there trying to improve their lives, and reach out to more women, and often times its not easy. We encourage guys like these to press onward, keep at it, don't let a rejection get the best of you, because it can be rough putting yoruself on the line, but what are they telling women who face an ucomfortable situation from the other end of the conversation??
