Both. It's her fault for making a poor decision, but it's also his fault because he let himself become a man that she didn't want to have sex with primarily.

I really like this.

If you were to assign percentages at fault, how much would you allocate to each gender?

As incredibly emotional creatures, could it be possible that they can't make a logical decision like breaking up? (For example, how some girls are abused and stay in the relationship)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't honestly know. Probably an arbitrary 50/50.

More to her at the end of the day she cheated, say 33% to him and 67% to her, after all she could have just walked away or made an effort to resolve things rather than cheat.

Yes.

Some people are just hardwired to be cheaters. This is true for both guys and girls. In a lot of cases, there isn't anything you can do to stop it. They just don't have any loyalty to you.

Other times, the relationship is already over, but the cheating side is too weak and/or comfortable to break it off. Breaking up with a person with whom you built a life with is not easy. It typically involves moving out, splitting finances, and possibly ending up in a severely worse living situation. Once the relationship is effectively dead, a lot of people will take the easy way out, and just fulfill their needs on the side. Its cowardly and morally bankrupt, but it makes things a lot easier for them.

In the first case, its the cheaters "fault". In the second case, its often hard to assign an absolute degree of fault. The cheater is clearly taking the most selfish route, but the relationship itself might be "dead" for a number of reasons. At the very least, it would have to be evaluated on a case to case basis.

Its hard to find people with high levels of integrity. This really applies to both sexes. Most guys and girls will do anything that suits their best interest and screw you over without skipping a beat. This is true in romantic relationships, work relationships, friendships, etc. If you are in a relationship and someone has a low level of integrity, they will be more prone to cheating. Because of this, only so much blame can ever be placed on the person who was cheated on.

Great post, when I was in college I started noticing the same thing. There were a few "I'm always going to cheat" types, but most people cheated because they didn't want to go through the breakup.

If they broke up with the person, there was a lot of pointless emotional discomfort - the "why are you doing this" stuff, the "we can work this out" stuff, a long period of agonizing over whether you should get back together, unclear expectations of what you should and should not do, etc.

If one person cheated, that ended it and it was over. Everyone knew what they were supposed to do, there was a lot less emotional agony, and even that the person who got cheated on sometimes felt better about themselves - it wasn't "I'm not good enough" they had to ask themselves, it was "well that bastard/bitch cheated on me!". Everyone knew what they were supposed to do, and everyone moved on with a clean break.

Aside from the "always going to cheat" crowd, it seemed like cheating happened as a result of exactly the same pattern that breaking up did.

Not sure if this is in line with red pill views, but I feel that the blame is about 80% on the man. He picked her, he lost her interest. Women will do what women do, it's his responsibility to make sure he's what women do.

If you trudge through the abyss that is Purple Pill Debate, you'll see the post titled "Red Pill and Abuse". It's a story about a girl who was in a relationship with a guy who "abused" her - he treated her as a booty call, would keep her in his house only if she would have sex with him, and he insulted her constantly. Many idiots flocked and outrighted started shitting on TRP - "Misogyny is so rampant and so destructive" or "I was the voice of reason and shitlords banned me. Hitlers." People then defended her as the victim without any blame. A guy drew analogy between a flame and people who touch it and he got shit tossed to his side since "does the abuser have no responsibilities to stop his abuse?". This is in the same vein as "Don't teach women to avoid rape, teach men not to rape". Men don't rape you dumb cunts. Criminals do. And if we could teach criminals to not be criminals, we would do so.

The point of it, she got a huge amount of support and that's a bad thing. It gives women a safety net to do what they want and be absolved from the responsibilities of their actions. Victim complex is a powerful thing, especially when it draws from men's natural instincts. Thus, more and more women will go with bad boys, ignore what their grandmothers (their mothers being the boomer generation, they're fucked up) tell them, get hurt in the process, learn nothing, rinse and repeat. Overindulgence in thins that are fun short term, but going to damage you long term is deadly. Especially when you learn nothing from it.

This is why I'm against the current incarnation of MRA (not the concept of MRA mind you) - they simply want to replace feminism and the dominant victim ideology. And men can never afford to be victims. If you cheat, it's your fault. If she cheats, it's your fault. If Russia invades Ukraine, it's your fault. Accept the responsibilities of your actions, and learn to draw from your mistakes, even when it cannot be possible to be your fault (the Russia invading Ukraine) because it's going to foster the opposite of overreliance on the system that hates you when you go the "a blu blu, I'm the victim here" - self responsibility. It's going to teach you that no one's going to help you, and the only person who can help you is you. You have no choice but to constantly improve yourself if you want to survive.

Men mustn't fall to the victim complexes that pervades groups like women, minorities, gays, etc. They're the ones who keep the system running.

His for dating a slut OR his for not being the man in the relationship.

Why is this a good thing??>

If he is at fault he can fix it. If she is at fault he just gives up and will do the same thing again.

No it's not really always his fault BUT change and improvement is a good thing.

Figured this is more theory, so that's why i asked here.

Your Fault: If you're in a relationship with her. (You didn't hold frame well enough)

Her Fault: If she's in another relationship. (She probably didn't tell you she was a cheating skank)

[–]Endorsed ContributorOccamsUsername0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If you can't keep her in hand, and she strays, this is 100% your fault. You failed to provide sufficient incentive for her to not act like a whore, and/or allowed her into situations where she could be a whore.
