TRP in HS: how does it work?

It's biology. It will work in high school. It will work after.

That said, it's hard to have the autonomy you need in high school to act in a RP way all the time. You will have to show blue pill adults "respect" that they sometimes have neither earned nor deserve. That is, unfortunately, good training for the working world.

My advice would be to read the sidebar, lift, and develop yourself physically and academically. If something seems easier for you than for your peers, that's your talent — develop it.

Listen more than your peers. Speak less. Pass shit tests with gentle kidding, and know when to stand up for yourself. Be someone people want to be with.

I will tell you, you are at a major advantage kid. Seriously. I was such a beta bitch my freshman-junior years of hs, and had I discover RP earlier my life would have been so much better. One piece of advice that is important is to listen to all the rumors, he said she said, drama, etc, but DO NOT become a part of it. Remember and keep track of it. Don't spread it unless you know or are trying to confirm it. Also, don't judge people by what other people say. Only judge people on what you have expiranced with them. Obviously if someone has a supposed record of stealing shit, dont leave your shit open or available around them, but don't be obvious about it. Last thing. Do somethig. Whether it's band, a sport, a club, or ROTC (I'm in that BTW and it's the best decision I made my whole hs life). If you're not athletic, musically inclined, or interested in clubs, do ROTC and COMMIT to it. Don't be a seat warmer, be the fucking leader.

Tl, Dr Listen and remember (or write down/record) all the rumors, don't get involved in the rumors, don't judge people but use common sense, and do a club, organization, or sport and commit your life to it.

Do what CrimsonCapsule said. Lift, it's going to be easy to bulk up at your age.

Now here's a little practical advice.

One of the main thing in HS is being "popular", whatever that means. You've got a few leading douchebags of both sexes and a bunch of followers droning around.

There's a rather easy way to achieve something like that yourself without doing stupid shit like drugs or booze. Try to get to know as many people as you can on a first name basis. Read Dale Carnegie "How to make friends and influence people." Don't suck up to people, by any means, you'd be deemed a loser, but rather, try to find what interests them.

Even the stupid shit. Get to know the nerds, the jocks, the Justin Bieber fans. Don't lie, just try to learn about what they find interesting.

Say you see a group of girls getting all excited about Justin's new haircut. The hard part is not to display the slightest contempt, and make it your mission to have them explain to you what's so great about him. Do not feign interest in the Canadian pop idol, you're not a fag, just enquire what they find so great about him. You can tell them you don't really like it, but ok, I guess that's interesting.

Ask the football players about football. Admit you don't think you'd be good at it but you've always wondered what it'd be like to play competitively. Stroke their ego a bit, but don't be a groupie, you're not a fag.

Ask the thespians about their thing, the musicians, get to know the people in the photo club, and so on.

Do that for a few months, and here's what happens next. Say you're chatting that up that girl in the hallway. Now while you're talking to her for 5 min, a dozen people pass by and salute you. You're not Chad the star quarterback, but to that girl, right now, you're the most popular guy in school by far.

My best advice is don't take it too seriously. It's four years of your ~80 year life. Anytime you seem to be overwhelmed, stressed out, or in "big" trouble, just remember that whatever happens (barring some obvious exceptions) will not matter in a few years. Have fun, make mistakes, do stupid shit.
