No. A woman is not an investment, and no amount of effort you put towards helping her improve herself or the quality of her life will prevent her from branch swinging. Hypergamy doesn't care. Relationship equity is a fallacy that men frequently ascribe to women. As far all their loyalty goes, It doesn't matter what you did in the past. It's always about "what have you done for me lately?"

Most likely she won't lose the weight. She'll resent you for pushing to better herself. You'll both be unhappy.

In the off chance that she actually succeeds, and she loses weight, her higher smv will put her in the perfect position to attract a higher quality male. Expect her to leave you if/when you fail the sharply increasing number of shit tests, or when she realizes that she now has her pick of the sexual market.

This is correct. Do not expect any returns in the future, enjoy and have fun right now. She may stay with you if you have a higher SMV once you are both done. However, her new found SMV will probably prove to tempting and she will want to experience the CC.

If you like this girl and view her to be an investment that will provide you with a great return then go for it brother.

Have you seen some of the transformations people go through? Some of the hottest bodies are hiding under 30 lbs of fat.

If you guys are into each other, maybe fitness can be an aspect of your relationship. Get her tight and reap the rewards of the treasure others have overlooked.

Edit: Exactly how overweight?

You shouldn't put effort into helping her get fit. You can provide framework such as 'this is what I eat' or 'i am going to the gym', but anything beyond that will fail to create good habits and will merely be her doing what she's told. (which will get tiresome)

As for if you should do this, only if she's everything else and already wants to take care of herself.

Don't do it.

Why?

At this point, since you're fitter than she is, and you've been dating her, the "SMV delta" in your relationship is now fixed. That is, she accepts that delta (with you being healthier/thinner than she is) as the baseline for your relationship, since her current appearance and weight is enough to attract you to see her (date her, etc.).

If she were to follow along and lose weight, you can rest assured that due to the change in relative SMVs (the delta would shift in her favor), she will be looking to upgrade her man, and attract a man with a higher SMV. The idea is that she could attract you when she was still overweight. Now that she isn't any longer, she can attract a higher SMV man, and she'll go about doing that.

Men often think of these things along the lines of "he loved me when I was still fat" type of reasoning, but SMV trumps everything, everything else when it comes to men and women relationships. When a woman increases her SMV in a relationship, unless the man also increases to the same degree in lockstep, such that the "delta" in SMV is more or less maintained, she will leave and look for a higher SMV man.

So, no, this is a bad idea. Cut your losses. Find someone who is attractive now, not someone who is a big risk to leave you once she becomes more attractive.

I think it's actually even worse than what you say, because her image of "you" in terms of the delta between you will likely lag just a bit. Your changes over time in the positive direction are harder to track and less visible than those in the negative.
