I don't know anyone into it in real life, I keep hearing about it on reddit though. I would theorise it's mostly the ideal of undesirable females wanting a boyfriend but at the same time wanting to fuck other guys because the only boyfriend she can get is a completely unfuckable beta.

Quality women tend to only settle for quality men and as such have no need for such nonsense.

I wouldn't do it. I mean I don't care what some girls I fucked did after they left my home but if I was in "real" relationship and I loved the girl I can't see how possibly any man could be fine with it. How is this still a relationship? 3 days with one guy, 3 days with second and 1 day for searching?

Women can get sex on the snap of their fingers, these at least half-attractive. Men not really so how I see it, it's basically another tool for hypergamy to take it's course and make it easier on ladies. Cause that's not cheating any more.

If you are truly ok with other dudes fucking your gf/wife, go for it. I know a guy who is heavy into swinging and he lets his 19 year old gf to be gang banged by six guys on swing parties. He seems to be enjoying it. Not for me, ever, not this, not poly.

I can weigh in on this a little, as a woman in a poly relationship just left my bed a bit ago(my first lay since swallowing the pill- so different).

Anyway, It's simply the ultimate hypergamy situation. She has several mates while she searches for a male of higher value. Low value males share her sexually, and give to her resources. In the case of the girl that just left, she is very hot, and these two men pay her rent, help with her car etc, and she has sex with both of them, often at the same time. To her this is optimal.

Really, the only polyamory I've ever seen work, was a union of two couples, in which all parties were bisexual. They frequently added escorts to the mix, and eventually one of the escorts "joined the relationship". In their paradigm, you can't go fuck whoever you want, and one of the guys(the one I knew) had amazing dread game, granted I didn't know what that was at the time.

It was a relationship, except with multiple people. He claimed it took up a lot less effort on his part, as he shared responsibility for these 3 women with another man.

I just spoke to him, and he claims it prevented hypergamy, as when he was "weak" his girlfriend would simply have more sex with the other male in the group, and vice-versa. So, the women ping pong between them based on their value, and also get their female sexual needs met by each other. It's as if they formed their own little tribe, in which he and the other guy would alternate the role of alpha.

Interesting paradigm indeed.

Back when my wife and I were getting into the open relationship thing I joined a poly group up here in Vancouver, and it was a really interesting time and a complete affirmation of RPT.

The group was pretty much clear cut into two brackets of people.

Men / women who were in their mid 20's

men / women over 40.

Now I like to think myself a keen observer of people, and if you want to see Hypergamy in action look no further than your average poly meet.

There were some cute girls there, and every one of them pretty much gravitated to the tall, good looking alpha with good hair.

These guys had a swarm of girls around them at every meet, and pretty much had a harem on tap.

Now there were a few meets where you had new people come along and what sticks out in my memory is where you had a guy and a girl come along.

At the beginning of every meet, you always have a round of intro's, a quick "why we / I am here" then there is usually a discussion top followed by drinks and socializing.

So, this night I remember this girl bringing her bf with her, and when asked she does all the talking and says they are there to explore maybe having a poly relationship.

The guy is really quiet, and passive and you can see the beta radiation making this guy almost glow.

So, as soon as the discussion stops his gf practically body checks the usual swarm of girls around the few alpha's there, and it was pretty obvious she wanted alpha cock in all her holes asap.

I remember the broken, crestfallen look on the beta guys face, when he realized what was in store for him.

I am a bastard, but I am not a fucking bastard. So rather than watch that poor bastard suffer, I finished up by drink and left.

The over 40's crowd was interesting because really you had a bunch of guys there, who had told their wives they were going to fuck other women, so either like it or leave.

So yeah, Poly girls are ok for fucking but don't ever expect them to be loyal.

But then again, would you want to fuck a girl who has taken more poundings than London during the blitz ?

A few years ago I was introduced to open relationships the hard way. My girlfriend at the time gave me an ultimatum and I, like an "understanding and caring gentleman," let her do what she wished. Granted, she had already cheated on me with thirty guys at this point so it didn't matter beyond semantics.

After leaving that relationship and starting on the path of the red pill, though I did not know the name, I decided to take a second look at polyamory (Firefox wants to replace polyamory with polyandry). I delved into some books and visited some groups (I can't call them couples). Only one of the groups, out of around a dozen, had a MFF triad; the male:female ration tilted towards more men per women.

The demographics varied. The MFF triad involved a thirty year old man and two women around his age. They were into various aspects of BDSM which is what seemed to be the driving force on why they were the odd ones out.

The normal situations were a woman with two men, or two men and two women. In the first, the people were all in their twenties and the men reminded me of stereotypical hipster; the woman seemed to relish being provided for and ranged from doing basic housework to nothing beyond looking pretty. I do remember two groups had a dynamic that reeked of the situation I was in; a beta male was coerced into being cucked and rationalised it by saying that all three of them were in a relationship.

In the other situation, /u/The_e-Detective outlined it fairly well. Two couples that paired off and created a closed group where they share each other seemed to work well because of the existing relationships and the ping pong effect that took place. They weren't bisexual but it would definitely help in these situations.

As for my own experience in polyamory, I was involved in one group (compared to just being with one member) this winter. I'm bisexual, so threesomes tend to work out no matter how you slice it for me; this was the case here as they both were bi. Without going into detail, the situation only worked because the woman was able to be emotionally satisfied through our (me and the other guy's) validation. I didn't continue with them for personal reasons.

Polyamory is a sound concept for women because they have the provider and the desirable genetics on hand. Polyamory for men tends to show that the man is alpha enough or that the man enjoys having other men in the bed (the most common reasons are cuckolding and bisexuality)

Most of these relationships are just de facto cuckolding arrangements, due to the man not being physically attractive enough to find many or even any NSA casual sex partners and women being able to do it at the snap of a finger.

The only time I can ever see this kind of thing "working" is if the two are tired of each other and probably the woman finds and brings in other women for the guy to fuck. Otherwise it's as I said, the woman getting sex and the guy probably not so much.

Essentially what you have is the female dual sexual strategy having its needs met while the man who is duped or self-deludes himself into such an arrangement gets nothing out of it. Anecdotally, every single one of these arrangements I've heard of in real life was suggested by the woman. I've only ever heard of guys being into it on the Internet and even then it's guys who are willing cuckolds like the weirdos in /r/hotwife.

This is the same reason hippie communes with their "free love" bullshit didn't work, because the whole thing is transparent when you look at who is fucking who. Small amount of men getting most of the sex while the vast majority of the men were working to prop it all up and who the fuck knows who's baby this is, but it's probably one of the few guys who get as much ass as a toilet seat.

I know many people who are into it IRL (About 8, actually). They tend to:

1) Be a monogamous couple who keeps the option (1) 2) Be an open couple that doesn't discuss it and it just is (1) 3) One person is alpha and the other person is so beta that they go along with it (6)

It's a protection mechanism for unattractive feminist that can't keep a man for longer than a couple of months; ergo they say I'm polyamorous so the breakups don't feel like they happened at all. So in summary is the hamster version of a soft harem for "ladies".
