I think this sub has gotten sort of carried away with the concept, particularly in reinforcing blue pill alpha concepts.

Everyone talks about lifting, making money, making friends, etc as a means of self-improvement, which I assume to mean you're trying to gain status. However, that doesn't explain the situations where a girl is just addicted to some guy who's ugly, not in great shape, poor, and/or not extremely popular or well-known. You could argue that you don't need all the traits, just one, to be 'alpha', but I think that might be a little lazy.

I think it all comes back to how you communicate and act towards the girl. Nothing else is truly relevant (although various bits of things might help). From this, they determine your status.

I think all of these self-improvement posts are geared towards helping you be a 'natural alpha' if you lack self-confidence or general ability to do things. However, they don't do much for guys that are already relatively successful or alpha in a blue pill sense. They don't need self-improvement. They just need to change how they see other people and interact with them.

One of the most helpful posts for me was that one on the Gervais Principle. It helped me see certain communicative cues that I was missing.
