So often in life, we come across folk with a curious mind, eager to learn. This is a wonderful thing, but the problem is that when many have questions, they lack the drive to follow through with them.

You see it when people get into fitness. They have questions, but they don't seek answers. They get easily disheartened. They settle with conformity.

Settling, conformity, and complacency are the biggest ailments to your path to greatness.

People will often ask for some pointers on fitness, and want to get buff, but the second they realize that it takes work, they dismiss the advice and carry on as they were.

That, or they want everything handed to them.

Many say they want to start on their fitness journeys, but don't want to do any research. They want every minute little detail planned out and directed to them. If they don't have that, they feel they don't want to begin. They don't want the responsibility with taking some initiative.

They won't squat, deadlift, or do a lot of lifts in general because they don't have someone babying them through the motions and teaching them nutrition, despite the availability of the internet, and they try to rationalize it with whatever excuse they can, such as work and so on.

Some guys want to become better fighters, but they never take initiative into researching outside sources, separate from their gym. They rely on their coach and limit themselves greatly, when they could've been ordering books and manuals online, watching other sources, and practicing differing things that will distinguish you and give you an edge in comparison to other fighters.

We could be learning so much on our own and contributing knowledge through seeking outside sources, instead of waiting for someone to do it for us and then post it on TRP. Great wisdom exists on TRP, but our brothers here cannot do everything for you.

One mustn't limit himself. All limits are self-imposed. Shun laziness from your mind. Ask the right questions, and you can find the answers, if you set your mind to it. Seek and you shall find.
