Apparently the 80/20 thing is true on Grindr as well - And HuffPo criticizes gay men for having the same dealbreaker criteria as women, listed in their Grindr profiles: "Only Masc." "Tall" "No Asians" etc. - Criticize women for this and you'd be called Misog.

Ultimately, feminists are afraid of what evolutionary psychology has to reveal because feminists are afraid of attractiveness standards, and of unchangeable attractiveness standards in particular. Because, you see, in the arena of sexual marketability, it is men who are the sex with more options to improve their dating market value. Women are, for the most part, stuck with their desirability, or lack thereof, the moment they are conceived.

Feminists don't like evobiology/evopsych for a few reasons.

  1. It makes it easier to quantify womens behavior dispelling the "feminine mystique".

  2. It lets them know that no matter how much money they make or status they achieve it will not make them more attractive to men.

  3. Due to natural distribution a woman will have to draw the conclusion that she is more than likely not on the right end of the distribution curve in regards to physical beauty which is crushing to the ego. (most women in the states believe they are a 7+ on a look scale)

  4. It forces them to openly acknowledge AFBB which is detrimental to their mating strategy. A woman admitting she got pregnant by the local thug while the IT nerd foots the bill is bad for PR.

Granting any type of evolutionary biology or psychology quarter is ultimately a self defeating strategy which is why it is so vehemently denied and fought against.

I both agree and disagree with CH's (I dunno what "handle" the dude goes by) assessment of the research on beauty ideals. Evolutionary psychology certainly offers some insight, but to write off the contributions of socialization and culture is... well, ignorant.

There are some features in women that men seem to find universally attractive-- these are youth, indicators of high estrogen (little body hair, narrow chins, big eyes), symmetry and clear skin.

Preferences for body weight are less universal and seem to vary based on the availability of food. We don't have to look to the imperfect records of evo psych to see evidence of this-- it plays out in a directly-observable way right now, from country to country. While anorexia's on the rise in the western world, girls are being force-fed in parts of Africa to make them more appealing to potential suitors. That being said, there's still a good case to be made for the influence of biology here (in a place where food is scarce, a plumper woman will be able to more reliably provide sustenance for a man's offspring).

I won't bother getting into the long list of beauty-enhancing embellishments and alterations to the body that don't seem to make any strictly-biological sense (ie: foot binding, skin-lightening, neck-elongation) which vary culturally... everyone here knows how to Google.

... in any case, this is my general objection to a lot of what CH posts-- he likes to deal in absolutes in favor of his agenda (ironically the same "crime" he accuses the feminists of), rather than acknowledge that things tend to be more nuanced.

Evidence suggests that standards of female beauty are neither wholly determined by evolution and biology, nor are they entirely socially constructed.

That being said, what feminism has done is offer a plan B to women who are less gifted in the beauty department-- a woman can make her own money and own property and shit now, so she's not entirely dependent on men to provide for her basic needs.

He is wrong about women not being able to increase their smv as much as men.

Why? Because he doesn't consider anything further than her physical appearance.

Now makeup, regular physical exercise and a decent diet will maximise the body. Note the difference that makeup can make on an area that whilst less important on men, is unchangeable for us. Additionally, a good body can make a plain-faced girl desirable.

Nevertheless, what is important to women is attraction from high quality males only insomuch as an indicator of her ability to extract emotional commitment from them. A good body and good sex may make him stick around for more than five minutes, but what men really want before they commit long-term is wife and mother qualities. These are the true fundamental principles of girl game. Acting feminine; learning domestic skills such as cooking, cleaning, sewing etc and wanting to show them off to her man; willingly following his lead; positive nurturing reactions to children and infants; being playful; having few or better yet no previous sexual partners; entering a caring profession where time out isn't a career killer (e.g. primary school teacher, nurse etc.). These are things a woman can do to improve her game, and if done soon enough she can punch well above her facial appearance weight when it comes to finding a husband. Men are actually quite good at lowering their standards in a way that women aren't; this allows us to choose high quality women, even if it means sacrificing a point on the physical attractiveness scale.

The problem for feminists is twofold.

  1. Wife and mother qualities add a point or two, they won't make a 3 into a 10. They'll still have to stop smoking and lose the weight.

  2. They are passionately opposed to wife and mother qualities to the point where they shame women who out compete them have them or strive for them

I understand the impulse... the instinct and drive... I really do..

But...

Screwing contracepted sluts is as much an evolutionary dead-end as spilling seed in the fake holes bolted on trannies.

So wouldn't the real measure of a red-pill beast not be the count of notches on the bedpost, but rather the number of bastards he leaves behind?

Evolutionarily, with his six well-raised kids, the squeaky clean Mormon daddy leaves a greater legacy for the future of mankind than a pickup artist who lays hundreds of fully contracepted sluts.

Comments?

It would be if TRP was about being a evolutionally succesful male. As it happens, however, it's not. All TRP does is take the evidence, which includes evopsych material, at face value, so that we may better adapt our approach in order to achieve what we want in life.

If that is to be evolutionally succesful and leave a ton of kids behind, sure. I think you're comment baiting though.

True. Doesn't mean we don't have the drive to, though.

So wouldn't the real measure of a red-pill beast not be the count of notches on the bedpost, but rather the number of bastards he leaves behind?

Only if that's what he wants to accomplish. If you want to judge amorally, evolutionarily, err, mostly. Genghis Khan is personally responsible for, what, 5% of the human population. Lesser bastard breeders, it's gets fuzzier, because the ability of his children to reproduce is compromised by his lack of protection and resources, while GK outdid it through sheer force of numbers.

Evolutionarily, with his six well-raised kids, the squeaky clean Mormon daddy leaves a greater legacy for the future of mankind than a pickup artist who lays hundreds of fully contracepted sluts.

Yup.

You are making a mistake in your thinking (and one that many culture-is-all-that-matters egalitarians often make as some sort of lame counter to evo-psych, much to my constant annoyance). Yes, evolution is about reproductive success. But evolution has acted proximally, not directly. Evolution has made certain things very enjoyable for us: For men, having sex with many attractive women. For women, having sex with alpha males. For some of both sexes, raising children (for some certainly not, and always remember that there are never absolutes).

Yet, despite being pleasurable in and of itself, the act of sex itself alone is not what leads to evolutionary success. Sex with contraception is still just as enjoyable (well, at least using the pill.)

This goes for other things as well. Things that make us happy are things often correlated to evolutionary success in the past: Sex, friendships, good social standing, creativity, power, prestige, intellectual achievement, being a great musician, working out, being skilled, etc. While raising a successful family can be a feeling of great accomplishment, it is hardly alone in the things that make human beings feel fulfilled, happy, or content with their lives, because evolution works proximally, not directly. It has led to those behaviors and situations which correlated with reproductive success being what we desire, enjoy, want to have. Not necessarily reproductive success itself.

Evolution is a process that has led to much of our psychology, and differences in psychology between the sexes: Red-pill is about accepting this fact. What you want to do with it is up to you. There is no magic bullet, clear cut answer as to what is best for your life, and no pill you take or knowledge you gain can give some pure foundation for it. In my opinion, the real measure of a red-pill beast is someone who is genuinely happy with their life, and not just because they have their head in the sand about reality. That measure is going to be different for every individual.

Many of their women-folk also have that really attractive wholesome look about them.

Maybe a harem of those would be better than a so-called "soft-harem" of dirty barren sluts?

I really admire and am attracted to the traditional values of our more religious fellow citizens. I find myself agreeing to almost every rule governing day-to-day life but I can't in good conscience claim faith in all the dogma about all the magical miraculous stuff that is the core of the religion.

I'd even be ready to give up the alcohol... I'd have a harder time quitin' the iced tea though...
