While I was on twitter and looking at the tweets for #WhyIStayed and #WhyILeft I noticed something interesting. Beautiful women were tweeting about physical domestic violence, while unattractive women were tweeting about mental, verbal, and emotional violence.

I decided to investigate this further. I searched for tweets in these hashtags with the keyword "physical." From there I went through tweets that 1.) had a picture of themselves (or so I assumed), 2.) mentioned their personal experience with physical violence (not just giving general commentary).

After finding 60 tweets that mentioned having physical violence inflicted upon them, while also having a picture, these were the results;

  • Attractive DV Victims: 45
  • Unattractive DV Victims: 15

Whats the takeaway from this? Well, what type of guy are girls most likely to go after? The muscular jock with a bad temper that rides a motorcycle (OMG totally hawt!!) or the quiet computer programmer that comes from a good family (Gross! total creeper). And we all know which type is far more likely to be abusive to someone. The abusive alphas get the attractive women, while the kind betas end up with the unattractive women.
