Wrong number was intentional. Single digit wrong makes it really easy to give a fake number without hesitation/thinking about it too much.

This is one of the reasons why you should (and I do) text immediately. That way, I know if the number's wrong or whatever.

Case in point: BP brother introduces me to his gf (who will be his fiancee unless he cocks it up). We exchange numbers, I text her right there to make sure it's correct -- lo and behold, text doesn't go through. Turns out she hit a digit wrong. We laughed and she corrected it.
