I am said "engineer". Though I'm not so bold to claim I am the best engineer out there, there are some firm metrics one uses to measure an engineer's worth in this organisation -- how many bugs one finds in code reviews (the lower the better), how many features one adds to the code without breaking it (the higher the better). Yes, demographics state there are now an equal number of Arabs and Jews if you include the West Bank, Gaza, the Golan Heights and Shebaa Farms as part of Israel. Even if you do not, it doesn't change the time very much -- the point where the line crosses the axes is where the populations are equal.
