I'm going through a breakup and about a month ago I met a guy on a video game. We never flirted or anything, he's very reserved and respectful, though I did get some signs he might like me as he was messaging me frequently and asking me to game often. But then he disappeared for a few days. He came back and said he had been in bed a lot of the time, feeling depressed. We gamed a bit and then he disappeared for a good few days again. He came back and told me a family member has Covid and he's been struggling with stuff irl.

I asked him the other day if he wanted to game with me and he said that day he was busy with uni work but we could play tomorrow "fo sho". I said I'm working the next day but hopefully I can catch you soon. That was a couple of days ago and he's not replied. I feel stupid because at the start the dynamic was really nice, with him messaging me and asking me to play. I know he's just a friend but I got attached too soon. I have anxious attachment and latch onto people. I'm in therapy atm.

I'm beating myself up now really because I know we're just friends and I know he's got uni stuff to do but he's not initiated a conversation with me for weeks now. I feel so messed up for getting so clingy and always messaging him first. I know I need to heal my trauma and I'm no rush to date anyone but I should have just had some distance from this guy. By now when I make male friends they are being sexually inappropriate and calling me stupid nicknames. This guy has never done that. He's been very reserved and respectful.

I wanted to get to know him slowly, he's a slow mover and I know the healthier relationships are formed that way. But I get so impatient and impulsive. I've acted clingy and feel like a fool. I know I'm in no place to date anyone but do you think in time he might start contacting me again? Or have I messed it all up?
