Honestly, besides the advice you been already given, I would encourage you to at least try a fancy dinner date. We all grow up being conditioned by society to have these false ideas about ourselves and how we deserve to be treated. Even if on a subconscious level women tend to worry about being perceived as high maintenance, gold-digging, hard to work with. We put on a show to prove that we are carefree, not materialistic, that we are the "ride and die" type. At least for me, feeling confident and not out of place in high-end restaurants, fancy lounges, and events I thought were for "affluent" people and not for me, was a big part of me leveling up. And yes, you will feel a little bit silly and like a fish out of water the first time you visit places like that. That doesn't mean that you are not fit or meant to be there.

If you truly hate fancy dining with a passion just be vary of how much effort and planning your partner puts into the dates. They should be in the charge of the planning and keep your interests and preferences in mind. The dates should take place in public, you are never to be alone (his place, his car, an activity that takes you both away from the public) with your partner for obvious safety reasons.
