HV dates for this time and moment

For possible dates, I'd accept anything cultural or active. Museums, aquarium, art exhibits, music, really anything that would not require you to take off a mask on a first date.

I mean an arcade is probably a bad choice with people touching everything. However things like go kart racing, ax throwing, or ice skating could still be relatively socially distancing from other people.

Don't forget you have veto options. A lot of those activities are specific so you may not like all of them.

About video games, depends on the situation. I love to share that I play videogames if I think I want to play with someone, doesn't matter who they are, but I've never done it initially in a romantic situation. It's something that comes out naturally after we already know each other rather than something to bond over initially.

My partner and I did not start gaming together until we started living together, honestly. Our first dates were always at restaurants, the movies, museums, the zoo, etc. Then we were long distance where it was somewhat incorporated but not really and once we moved in together we finally started playing.

Almost everyone plays video games these days, it's as much of a hobby as watching television in my opinion. Totally enjoyable and valid, but not something to really bond over as pretty much everyone with access to modern technology games in some way or another (Farmville, Skyrim, Crossword/Sudoku app, Among Us, Tetris, Poker, etc. etc.). I think it's something to be wary of mentioning at first simply because it can often be an excuse to try to get you over at their house or to have a videogame "date" (which is not a date at all) as you've seen with the LVM mentioned. It just isn't a real hobby for the majority of people and unless you're in some serious eSports group and going to tournaments, streaming, etc. or a cosplayer, it just doesn't even need to be mentioned until you're exclusive.

I do think once it comes out naturally after a while it would be a fun thing to incorporate in free time where you'd normally be texting or in a phone call together, AT YOUR OWN HOMES (NO "going over to play together at their house" especially if you haven't been intimate yet as that's a lot of LVMs lazy way to lure you into bed with them), but I wouldn't consider it a real date, just chatting while socially distancing in a more exciting medium than whatsapp.

Essentially consider multiplayer videogames the equivalent of a special texting app until you're around the "spend a lot of time at eachother's homes/move in together/comfortable being in the same room but doing different things" stage and can then incoporate it naturally together. Not as a bonding tool.

As for the dates idea, there are tons of ideas on FDS, in the handbook, in other threads, and u/vereelimee has an excellent comment with top quality ideas here.
