I met someone while solo traveling and i knew him for a year before meeting on a holiday trip where he lived. we met a couple of times while i was traveling and got into a relationship beginning of 2020. He was in a relationship of 5 years with his former GF. I didn’t know he was in a relationship back then. On the last day of my trip without my knowledge he decided to break up with his GF when things got official between us. Due to Covid it was LDR and I struggled navigating the relationship due to the distance and we never met in person again. In those times, i only realised now that i was love bombed and we argued over the speed in which he was progressing in the relationship when i wanted to take it slow. He started denying my reality, isolated me from speaking to my male friends, insist on knowing my whereabouts with proof of pictures. I broke it off in December and a week later he found someone else. I have seen him through Truecaller talking to his new GF on the phone all night long every night like we use to. It puzzles me that he is able to rebound so quickly and I wonder if i was his rebound too.

I’m doing much better being in no contact with him but i feel bitter that he’s able to move on. Is he afraid of being alone? What do men like this are really looking for being in relationships like this when they can so easily bounce from one to another?

This community has taught me so much that i never knew/ ignored the signs just because i was told such behaviours are normal from men like jealousy, insecurities etc and i have always compromised despite feeling uncomfortable about it. I will no longer compromise in these matters and live in my truth with clear conscience
