I'd like to preface this post by saying that I perfectly understand the FDS position on texting (that being that men should always text first) from a dating & safety perspective - it allows you to gauge a guy's interest and make sure he's a good conversationalist. I get that and it makes a lot of sense.
However, as a man, how do I tell the difference between "this girl enjoys talking to me" and "this girl is being polite"? If I'm always the one initiating conversations - even after a few weeks or months - I'm going to feel like I'm interrupting or being annoying or something. I want to also be friends with whoever I end up with and if you can't start a conversation with "hey look at this cool bug I found" without having it get weird then I don't know what I'm going to do.
