wanted to know what you ladies think about this topic! personally i think it’s a good sign when a man is close to his family, especially if he has sisters and is close to them. however, i have also read and heard lots of horror stories about a man who doesn’t have boundaries with his family (typically his parents, more typically his mother) and lets them steamroll his girlfriend/SO without defending her (or with half-ass defending).

so my question is, where should a HVM place a girlfriend/SO in terms of priority or importance with his family? obviously this is something that changes throughout the course of a relationship (I would be wary of any guy who puts me above his family from the start) but there is a certain point where the SO should take on more importance than the family (like for a marriage). of course there are exceptions and it’s not all cut and dry for every single circumstance, but i’m just talking generally.
