So you don't lift at all? You need to show leadership by example.
"But I don't need to lose weight," you say.
I don't have to stay late at work when an emergency comes up that my underlings should handle. But I do anyway, because I'm the boss and I set the example.

Never said that. I am lifting, but to gain, not lose. Hoping to convince her to come with.

Perfect.
My wife didn't start going to the gym until after I had been going consistently. It's natural for it to happen after you take charge and do it first.

Hope so. She has the potential to make some dramatic changes to keep her coming back.

It works. Just do it.

So it sounds like your wife is attracted to you: she gives you plenty of sex and there is no respect problem. She just sucks in bed and and is obese, which I think are two separate problems with a similar, leadership-based solution. If she is compliant in bed, read Sex God Method and start leading her to great sex. If she follows you outside of the bedroom, work on leading her to healthier living, but I feel like this is more tenuous. Our way is to lead, not to control and there may be limits on how much you can lead her regarding diet.

I'd bet money your SMV is lower than you think and mostly related to lack of frame, not passing shit tests properly, and lack of game.
I recently flat told her that I NEED her to lose weight
Ooh, with capital letters! How many times have you talked about this without doing shit to enforce your boundaries afterwards?
Increase your SMV, and once that is good withdraw affection and dread hard when she isn't losing weight.
I literally filled out a test to get a score. I can game her all day, but Im already getting laid on the regular. I do enough to make things fun outside the bedroom and to segue into the bedroom. As for shit tests, she knows she has to have a reason to get me to take any action. 'Just because' isnt a reason.
One talk. Less than a week ago. The tone of voice doesn't transfer. It wasnt delivered in a whiney tone.
That's likely the long term. For now I'll see if se will go with me and actually reduce consumption.

She's obese. That shows some combination of very weak self discipline and no respect for you or herself.
If you really haven't brought this up earlier, then by all means try to lead by example and talk first.
But I don't think you should kid yourself that she's going to go along with this peacefully. You'll need to bring out the big guns (both the carrot of SMV, game and sex and the stick of withdrawing attention and hard dread) to get her to cut effectively for months and months.

She has some possible excuses that may be valid (medical), but the effort has not been there. If she tries and fails trying, then I'll know to include a doctor or other professionals for assistance.

that SMV test is some retarded autistic Bullshit.
the only SMV that has any effect on you is the SMV as perceived by the person you want sex from. In this case, I assume you want to fuck your wife.
So from a THEORY standpoint, you don't have the basic concepts yet.
In practice, it sounds like you have a scared wife and are using that as a threat.
What have you done to LEAD her to loose weight? ( not fucking tell her, lead her)
what specific measures have you taken recently to make her believe she should fucking listen to your words? Have you done anything that a good leader would do to get his first officer to make lasting changes?

People A lot of men don't get that Dread is subtextual. It is NOT IN YOUR FACE. It is a SMALL, lingering concern in the back of her hamster that there is a disturbance in the force. Dread is NOT "fear." If you are leading based on "fear" then yes, you are doing it wrong.
Look at the cover of my book:
https://bluepillprofessor.wordpress.com/2015/05/22/hello-world/
THAT is "Dread" and you can see the combination of angst, anger, and arousal in that look. Dread done right does not beat down a woman but charges her up to do battle as only a woman can (with her pussy).
Agreed, but it stands as a data point.
I would prefer not to fuck up my marriage.
That is what I've started to do. I think I'm looking more for tactics, not strategy. Right now, I have to see if I can get her to the gym consistently... and actually reduce calories. How do you guys manage the pantry? That has been a moms job stereotypically.
Hmm. I can see your point. She very frequently asks for my advice or opinion on a range of things and takes the suggestion. But it's a case of 'what gave you don't for me lately' from a leadership perspective. I'll need to step up the leadership. Definitely a worthy endeavor.

Plenty of guys here manage the pantry. At first they start managing it just for themselves as a way of setting an example
That smv test is a bs test. It's made for guys spinning plates at best. Use it without the autistic questions ( like being smart is a negative to male smv). Use the tool but modify it for your situation with eyes wide open

Dread is a technique for wetting down a dried up pussy.
I don't think that is what you are dealing with and you already have passive dread. Some endorsed guys disagree with me and have had success, but I don't think dread is useful for getting a woman to lose weight. I think Dread is useful for sparking the tingles, and that is it.
No doubt a LOT of problems go away when you have the tingles but I don't see the use of Dread when you already have the tingles if the goal is something else.
Just IMHO.
To get her to lose weight, show by example, lead, get her in to an exercise class, take control of the family food intake and purchases etc.
She has little prospect of finding a better provider at this point.
So you are using "Beta Dread" and thinking that sexual arousal is about provisioning? Sure, getting SEX is all about provisioning ability, but genuine sexual arousal is something else entirely and that is what you want.
Like I say (torturing and improving P.J. O'rourke): Everything is about power, except sex. Sex is about money.
