I read deadbedrooms and the codependency board. I think I am actually helpful on Coda. DB is good for me because I feel less and less empathy/association over time with the posters. Also, I find I check DB less and less over time.

So, I was reading crap like that. All it did was raise suspicion in me that my wife was about to have an emotional affair. Those feelings serve no purpose, and in fact kill abundance mentality. I unsubbed from relationships.

If you even think that subreddits like that are motivation to be better or more attractive, then ask yourself if you are improving for you or for her. If it is for her, then stop and read something more useful (like the sidebar).

A lot of times guys are clueless to emotional affairs because they happen at work so often and often there is no electronic trace (since the see each other in person so much):

Worrying about it is a waste of energy. Better to focus on the sidebar, lifting, and dread levels. Be the prize.

To answer your question with a question, what are you getting out of it?

Is reading it adding or distracting value from your life?

I came over here from Deadbedrooms, man, going back to that sub is depressing. Once in a blue moon I wander around reddit, have a peak at some other relational subs. It feels like I am sitting on a hill far away looking down on a burning city. I feel empathy, but then I just move on.

Well, we usually get posts like that posted on the main sub, albeit annotated, so why the hell not?

I'd recommend using it to help develop your understanding of the theory here, figure out wth you would do/recommend in that situation, etc.
