I absorb so much stuff by reading, listening, watching stuff, every day. Especially personal philosophy stuff. It changes my life and inspires me and makes real long term improvements, but then eventually I will forget about it because I have so many other things to deal with, and because I continue absorbing more useful stuff. For example tonight I was listening to a Jordan Peterson lecture that I had already listened to maybe 3 years ago. There was one small particular idea within it that inspired me so much when I first heard it, that completely changed and developed my mindset and brought me tremendous progress. Then tonight when I heard that concept again, it was like a brand new epiphany. I am dealing with the same issues I was dealing with 3 years ago, because I slowly stopped remembering this personally vital idea. This happens a lot with me, I will hold on to sort of the basic principles of a lot of the stuff, but forget what it all really means, and how to use it (without realizing I’ve forgotten that)
