If you have the aptitude just do any stem subject that you find remotely interesting. Keep learning about careers, try things out, get internships etc

Accounting is easy, they don’t have a lot to deal with. Public accounting is a lot of hours but you can easily switch into corporate in 5 seconds, they are just whining to whine. Accounting is a solid easy career. It will be very numbers, excel, desk heavy.

What do you find interesting? What do you read magazines about or spend your free time investigating. That will show you why you find interesting. The from there choose a stable career that is the closest related to that.

Math/numbers/business - accounting, consulting, IB, etc Biology/chemistry - PA Computers - computer science Cars, machines - engineering Etc etc etc

It depends. Do you want an awesome job? Do you want to be self employed? Do you want to travel? Do you want to make a difference in the world? Do you just want to get paid?

What are your personal goals and interests? Do you like business, the idea of it? Do you like sales? Are you a risk taker, or more measured?

Here's some advice from someone the same age as you. I'm British and we finish high school at 16. We use a unique grading system, so I'll translate it to recognised grades. I left high school with an A in Science, B in Maths, B in English, B in Geography, B in Design Technology as well as an A* in my Design Technology coursework, Passed my motor vehicle repair GCSE, and achieved a C in 'ICT', which was essentially just dumbed down Dreamweaver and Photoshop (I would've got a better grade if the course wasn't so fucked up from the start thanks to the IT department collapsing). In the UK, a B is enough to get you into a lot of top achieving colleges. I was never destined to be academic, but I worked hard in secondary school, something I never did earlier on, hence why I was previously just 'average'.

I've never been interested in academic subjects really. My GCSE subject options showed this. I've always been more interested in applying knowledge to real world use. I've always been decent with my hands and I would always be helping my Dad at work when I was young and I also did a lot of gardening. My Dad is an Electrician and I found working with him was so fun. When I finished school, I decided to apply for an apprenticeship in Electrical Installation. It's highly stressful, yet so rewarding and not too much of a boring job. It still makes you think a lot, but because I'm good with my hands, but also like to apply knowledge to the job, I found it was a decent job for me. I've wanted to quit at times, but it's not an easy job, and in the end my heart has been in the job.

I chose my happiness over what paid the highest. I've never been a fan of the whole university lifestyle. I've never liked sitting around all day at a desk either. I wanted to do something I enjoyed, could apply knowledge to and also get paid decently once I'm qualified.

Honestly, find something you really enjoy. I've heard that a lot of people kick themselves when they are in their late 30s and hate their job. Even if you get good grades and show promise, never do something if you hate it. I'm a prime example. I got my grades only studying the things I enjoyed. I fucked off English and still got a B grade. I did the same with biology too and some of the boring shite in the maths curriculum. I could've done better, of course, but my heart wasn't in it. I just like to apply my knowledge to the real world rather than an exam paper.

I've always wanted to be a mechanic because I'm a massive petrol head, but I realised that the mediocre pay and the fact you get demoralised working on other people's cars wasn't for me. Instead I'm going to purchase a classic car to restore by myself soon. I've also repaired my own car, however old Nissan's are too well built and not much has needed to be done.

There's a lot to be said for really enjoying the work you do, but you can take that excessively far into a field that doesn't pay a living wage.

IMO, the best approach is to study the most rigorous STEM field you can succeed at, which you also still enjoy. No need to pick just one to start - take a swath of math, physics, chemistry, biology, etc, and see what speaks to you. There's a really high rate of translatability from those majors into a wide range of jobs - typically the most translatability from the most rigorous fields. E.g. I remember reading an article about how math majors can get work in almost any field. Computer science is similar.

Take squishy classes like philosophy or music or English lit for your personal development, but don't major in those fields.

I’m 20, about to finish second year of uni and uni lessons are shit and meaningless and I’ve learnt nothing.

Uni is good for hoes and drinking. For me atleast. Class is cancer, especially online.

Which has led me to not knowing what the fuck ima do wit my life besides become a youtuber. So think before you go to uni. You can learn many skills outside of uni. Just depends if ur future NEEDS that degree and debt
