Barber shops are one of the few last places that are exclusively for men, and most bitch boys aren’t gonna be able to take it. Maybe they are sizing you up, not in a sense that they want to fight, but they don’t want you around if you can’t be one of the boys and take shit.

Talking shit to each other is an age old male bonding thing. So hlmes says "YOU GOT AN APPOINTMENT" you yell back, "YEAH! WHERE IS YOUR MOM ANYWAY?" or something along those lines.
