You haven't asked a real question. Are you 'right' for feeling a certain way about her behavior? I'm going to say that it's understandable how you're uncomfortable with what she's doing. That's what you're doing right, although how you're bringing it up to her might be flawed.

My suggestion is you tell her not to keep up this dysfunctional behavior. But before you do that, institute some new behaviors of your own. You should be her Daddy. She should look to you for stability and direction. If she's still contacting them, they're probably relaying information to the ex, and that's likely making it seem like the door's still open for a relationship between the girl and the ex. If you're not filling the emotional gap, that's what you're doing wrong. There's material in the sidebar that can help point you in the right direction.

If you can't get her to change her behavior, you should consider moving on. It's entirely possible that she's trying to keep him around for the rebound, and is only hanging on to you until she finds something better. How long have you been swallowing the red pill?

she never had a dad and she says this fills that gap for her.

That's deep man.

How are they with you? If they're cool with you then I'd try to build a bridge with them. If they aren't holding on to some fantasy about her getting back with their son then I suggest you try and find a way to deal.

You're fixated on her ex and not on her and them. You want to take away a relationship that means something to her then you gotta have a real good reason. You throw down an ultimatum and you may get what you want but she'll resent you later on.

That's a tough one...

My ex stays in contact with the parents of her former ex. She really hates him. I never had a problem with it.

And I am still friends with the brother of another ex of mine. I havent talked to her in 3, no, 4 years and don't think about her at all.

So I am not sure if it really is a problem.
