I'm planning on starting a business late 2016/2017. Its a service based company, that would provide equipment and software. The software would have 4 main functions:

1) Display data inputs from various sensors, and plot them on a graph. It would look like a stock trading graph.

2)Plug the data into various formulas, and display the result, refreshing every .5 second.

3) Control the equipment. Very basic controls, actuating hydraulic equipment, and automating the sequence to create a resultant reading on a sensor.

4) Create a report of the all the data.

Is it worth learning how to write software for this? Is it feasible to learn how to code in a few months time? Or would I be better off hiring a professional?

I feel the software is pretty basic, and so may not need professional creation. Thanks.
