I've encountered this as my SMV and confidence in general has increased. I am rising through the social ranks at work, having started at the very bottom. I've noticed though, that 1 or 2 long time AMOGs will casually refer to me as 'buddy', which has a negative connotation for me as something you call a child - not a peer. I'm taking tone and all other cues into consideration, and it doesn't scream hostile, but still seems disrespectful, and just an odd word choice; I personally wouldn't call someone 'buddy' if we were friends or acquaintances. Here is a text from an ostensibly friendly AMOG who invited me out:

"8pm at *********, see you there buddy. *redacted address "

Is this just a word preference and I'm being autistic, or am I subtly being negged?
