I broke up with my girlfriend after 15 years of relationship. I don't have a grudge against her, but I just didn't love her anymore. It hit her like a punch in the face. I feel very sorry for her. We haven't had any contact since almost four weeks. I miss her already, but as a buddy and not as a life partner. Now she has asked for a talk in order to be able for her to be able to end the relationship. Although I am afraid of what will happen, I agreed because I respect her. I am afraid of the feelings that will come and of what she will say.

Do you have any advice for me on how I should go into the conversation and what mental attitude I should adopt to get through it as well as possible?

Thank you very much!

Quick update:

We had that talk yesterday. It hurt a lot and I cried for two hours afterwards. But still it was good for both of us. We spoke again and I could at least partly explain why I left. I took responsibility and she didn't feel like she was being thrown away like a piece of garbage. Because that wouldn't have been fair after such a long, mostly good relationship.
