Replace lifting with pilates. Replace meat with soy based products. And replace gaming chicks with faggotry.
Save yourself all the effort.
[–]Musicgoon3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
How many fighters do you know? 100% of the guys that I know that box professionally or do MMA also lift.
Prissy entitled women don't do things because ,"it's not fun". Its supposed to be effort. When you suck at it (crappy form) you won't like it.
No one here respects the easy way out. But if you want to act like a woman, knock yourself out.

Based reply.

Well actually I'm replacing lifting with boxing so you're attempt at funny wordplay is wrong. Although, if you actually explain your viewpoint, I would happily read it

ah ok. you don't like to do it. it's ok then. after all life is about staying in your comfort zone.
just never do what you don't feel like. success guaranteed.
good luck!
[–]TeamLitten-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
well I still am going out of my comfort zone with the boxing. Is boxing and learning how to fight not enough for you, sir/s??
[–]Endorsed Contributorvandaalen6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
obviously not
[–]TeamLitten-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
you're so confusing. I'm trying to understand you but I can't seem to do it when all you do is insult people and think you're better than others.
[–]Endorsed Contributorvandaalen8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
no problem. you tried your best to your abilities.
[–]agoodcrayon6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Lmaoooo you hurt their egos with a satirical comment.
The lack of common sense and social iq is astounding. These boys aren’t ready for the real world and this sub is 90% dead.

I don't remember my ego getting hurt...
[–]Endorsed Contributorvandaalen3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It happens that people loose memory in stressful situations. It's a mechanism to shield you.

This guy’s confused in his own head. Contradicting his own views.

me or the other guy?
[–]swarajshimmar-2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The guy who thinks everybody has same goals in their lives(the name’s vandaalen)
[–]Yipiyaye-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Its ok if you dont like lifting just do other activities. Go boxing yes, 1year of boxing and youll beat 90% of lifters. They might not acknowledge it but they cant fight for shit.
[–]TeamLitten-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah very true. I didn't realize that many TRP people are almost religious to lifting. I think any activity is good, and learning how to fight as a guy is a necessity imo
[–]HauntingRooster2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Would you say a reason for not enjoying lifting is because of your shit form? For me, lifting became fun when I knew my form was correct and the weight on the bar kept increasing. Lifting and becoming stronger could benefit your boxing as well.
To a degree I would say yes. You see, about 2-3 weeks ago I suffered a minor back injury and had trouble lifting for a while. I don't like lifting to a degree because of how complex it seems. That and I'm already a small dude so my body just isn't meant for lifting weight and I enjoy doing other shit more like fighting
[–]Yipiyaye1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
After reading this comment i think you should lift, even if you are insecure in the gym. Just lift light weight focus on form and gradually increase the weights. Be there atleast 3times a week, believe me youll feel more comfortable in your own body and you wont regret it. That being said also do boxing on the side, because lifting is for show, boxing is for real.
[–]TeamLitten0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
yeah you're right. It's just hard during corona
[–]HauntingRooster0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Dude, it may seem complex but the only exercises you really need to focus on is squats, deadlifts, and press(OHP or bench). These 3 lifts are the most beneficial for overall body development and are actually the easiest to learn. They seem complex to people but I think people just get intimidated because they are honest workouts. You can’t bullshit them by doing weight that’s too heavy or you will fuck your body up(which may be why your back hurts in the first place).
Leave your ego at the door, start with very little weight until you get the movement down. Couple this with good nutrition and you WILL see gains. Regardless of your body type.

All of those are doable for me. Thanks bro
[–]1DullIntroduction0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Why not both?
[–]TeamLitten0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
mostly with time and coronavirus. If I had the ability to, I would definitely do both.
[–]1DullIntroduction0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This virus is only a temporary setback, think ahead.
Compound barbell exercices are really effective at building strength, where bodyweight won't go that far in terms of volume and intensity, you should not dismiss them.
The key point is intensity : heavy weights and low volume. Getting the habit of stressing the body (both the muscle and nervous system) is important for your growth.
If you enjoy bodyweight exercices, you can easily incorporate them to your routine as accessories. Same for cardio.
[–]TravisScottNL0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Do Bodyweight exercises and boxing. Ryan Garcia also does that
I love bodyweight exercises. Something about being able to bang out 50 pushups or 15 pullups just feels so good
I've just picked up golf. It's a hobby 5 lads in my crew do, and I thought it would be a good way to bond and spend time with my friends.
And do you know what, I suck balls. I've come dead last in all the games we played. And I expected that. Do you know what I did? I hit the driving range, worked on my long game and my short game on the putting green.
The last game I played, I didn't come last, I came second to last by 1 stroke. But fuck me did it feel good knowing all that effort payed off. And hopefully soon I'll be placing at the top.
If you want the results you got put the work in. How many boxers do you think only do boxing training? You don't think they lift or do cardio?
Sure, you could only box, just like I could have only played the 18holes every time I wanted to practice golf. But my gains would have been slow AF.
[–]spartanblood10 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
stop being a phaggot, do the work. life isnt easy and its not worth wasting
[–]Saladin190 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
How do u be a better boxer if you dont have the strength or coordination to fo basic lifts
You dont have to do the bro plan split - but if you incorporate body weight excercises (pull ups dips etc) into boxing training and give 2/3 days a week for strong compound excercises yoh should be all right and you will notice imporvements in boxing
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Maybe just do progressively harder pull ups and push ups, squats, leg raises, arm stands etc.(look up convict conditioning, eg. the basic push up is by for not the ultimate push up). The strength to move your body at will in any direction is really all the strength you need and you're much less likely to hurt yourself doing movements your body was actually designed to do. Lifting is great but it's not the only way and has lots and lots of problems unless done with absolute precision and perfect planning.
Combine that with boxing if you like it, combat sports are the shit IMO
[–]bruiser180 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Doesn’t matter if you don’t like it. It’s part of the course. Having a combat sport is good but being big and strong gives you a different level of respect.
Do you think being big is more important than learning how to fight?
[–]bruiser180 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I’ve done MMA for 10 years and been lifting for 3, do both. There’s no reason not to.
That said, the comments, looks etc I got from getting big boosted my confidence hugely, the difference is night and day.
[–]swarajshimmar-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
I like to believe there are no rules. I feel like you too and don’t get excited about gym. I just do 3 exercises(pushups, squat jumps and planks) to stay fit. Isn’t buffed up body a society’s standard of beauty for men?
[–]Endorsed Contributorvandaalen3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
I like to believe there are no rules.
I like to believe people like you are retarded
[–]swarajshimmar-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
People like you believe success is objective.
[–]Endorsed Contributorvandaalen2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
exactly
[–]TeamLitten-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Tell me what makes me retarded? I like the Messi/Ronaldo look way more than the gorilla look ... sue me
[–]Endorsed Contributorvandaalen6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
you are retarded because you don't even understand what the lifting dogma is about and nobody here cares enough about you to give a fuck about what look you prefer
lifting dogma? what are you talking about? Working out is working out, just because one fights and one lifts doesn't make one better than the other imo
[–]BroSplit13 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You’re not going to look like Messi/Ronaldo until you’ve been lifting for a few years 🙄, and to become a gorilla you need juice. Guys with these ‘athletic’ looks are the product of equally as hard work in the gym compared to these ‘gorillas’... just they don’t take gear.
[–]TeamLitten-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Idk. I'd rather be fit and actually be able to do stuff (like run a mile or do 15 + pullups no sweat) than just be big, lift heavy, and be aesthetically pleasing.
[–]MindlessCalendar0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You aren't going to get 1% of Ronaldo's physique if you don't lift. You probably don't realize that guy has been in the gym for years.
No one said you have to get a bodybuilder physique. The muscle/lean combination is actually what a lot of guys go for. Guess what? The muscle part comes from hitting the gym.
You don't have to. But your mindset is problematic. Instead of trying to improve your form and learning how to enjoy something that is very beneficial to you, you keep making excuses and quit. With that mindset you aren't going to get far in life.
Do with that information what you want.
