I'm a CS engineer now. My degree is in finance.

You don't necessarily need education to jump into IT. Just get your foot in the door and work on as many systems as you can wherever you start and branch out. identify which direction you want to go (I went security) and get the appropriate certs and you can get picked up fairly quickly.

And let me start by saying this. The notion of doing a job you love is bullshit. Don't base your idea of a job on that bluepill dick sucking fantasty. You do a job that pays well enough that you just don't feel like killing yourself doing where you can pursue what you want to do in your free time.

I dislike my job, I don't hate it, but I certainly don't love it. But it pays the bills and it's a great avenue to make even more money down the road.

That is very unlikely in our time. Getting money and doing what you love in your free time is great. And remember that you will grow to hate most of the stuff you love when you do it professionally.

Share my story, ok this will sound hypocritical, I am studying medicine because I love it. It's the perfect mix of love and money.

I think that you need to focus on the task at hand, finish your studies, even if you do not like it, get a job, and move on from there to another field, if you can/must.

It looks very bad on your resume to never finish something. It looks good on your resume, to finish things then move upwards and keep improving, even changing careers, if it looks like an improvement.

I know a doctor that changed his career and became a professional pilot, "because he loves flying" ~~and hates medicine.~~

You need to focus on the task on hand... you can change direction from a position of strength. Sometimes, finding the things you love to do happen in places that you don't want to go to.

I tell my son, "Be a shark!" Sharks must always move forward or they die. They always close their eyes and commit to taking the bite. they never take little bites. They are always looking for their next meal. If a shark misses the bite, they move on, they don't beat themselves up about it. Sharks are not afraid of taking a bite.

Be a shark! Always keep moving forward! Always commit to the task at hand. Always look for new opportunities. Never beat yourself up, but always learn to do it better. Be fearless and take calculated risks. Be a shark!

It is a silly little expression, "Be a shark!" and reduces everything down to its simplest form, but it pays dividends in the end, you live your life to the fullest.

How do i find a career path of my liking?

By living your life to the fullest. By looking for opportunities. By always moving forward. By trying new things with commitment.

Do you think that what you will love doing will just fall into your lap, without you actively looking for it? Waiting around didn't work for billions of people already... you are no different, it will also not work for you.

Be a shark! Get your qualification, get your job and move on from there.
