I know that TRP is highly opposed to having any female friends, but I made one a while ago, and she became legitimately the best friend I think I've ever had.

She was my Pastor, and when my close friend was diagnosed with cancer, she was there for me, like in almost a weird way. I don't know how it came out. But it's almost like when you meet an old lady in church that's super righteous and religious, and all they ever do is talk about the bible, and talk about loving on all the people on earth. Literally 99% of all her social media posts are about Jesus, church, or some Christian related seminar/event she attended.

Never spilling her problems on me at all, never using me for anything. Going out of her way to buy me coffee when we'd hang out one on one, and give me presents, and write handwritten notes on different occasions when I did literally nothing for her other than expose the absolute worst parts of myself during the darkest period of my life.

She basically has gone against every single RP truth that seemingly applies to everyone. I know she isn't some perfect being, but at some point not long ago I started feeling strong feelings towards her. I recognized the oneitis kicking in, and tried to cut all ties.

First I just blocked her. Then I started thinking, usually when I block someone it's because they did something to wrong me. This girl has literally done nothing negative to me, and if she did, I know for a fact she would be up for hours crying her eyes out and praying over the situation.

So I unblock her and send her a fairly long message where I stated that I think it's best we not speak again for the foreseeable future. She instantly responds with an equally long message where she's linking 3 different pieces of scripture, with detailed explanations, etc. And saying that she doesn't want to question how I could be hearing from God, and that if I think that's best, she will try to get through it.

I want to know, did I do the right thing here? It honestly hurts me seeing that I obviously am hurting someone that I have grown to care about and was there for me in a rough time.

The only reason I haven't tried to actively date this girl is because we have moved to different states for a few months for school. In a few more months we'll both be back home where we originally met.

Could use some advice.
