I'm in a long term relationship with a girl from my university. I have been since the summer before freshman year. I was completely happy with her at school, but now it's summer. If it helps you guys understand my desirability, i'm at a top school and will be attending medical school in a couple years, and everybody knows it. Plus, i've been seriously lifting for years, so i'm no slouch.

I wanted to hang out with a friend from high school. For our entire relationship we've just been friends and nothing more, but i've always had a crush on her. Anyways, we hang out after not seeing each other for 2 years, and I never tell her about the gf.

At the end of the evening, she comes onto me strongly and I didn't stop it... The instinct to act on my crush took over and we go to second base, luckily not further.

All my 'bros' that I've told are pretty disgusted and are abandoning me. I told the gf, she took it well and didn't break up yet, but it's something she'll always hold against me.

I own up to what I did, I know it was objectively wrong. I am looking more towards the future so I can learn from this.

I just wonder, how many crushes have to come onto me while i'm in a ltr before I either give in or regret the missed opportunities? This time it only took one because i've literally liked the other girl for years...

My friends in their criticism told me that I should be with a girl that makes me disregard other women. I just don't feel like such a thing is possible at this point. I'm 20 for fuck's sake. I've never been in a relationship that's made me permanently forget about all the other women in my life.

I'm thinking maybe I should use this as a segue into getting away from LTRs... What do you guys think?
