Are you planning on working there forever? Most likely either you or them will move on at some point in the near future. Get some numbers, cool it, wait for the right time.

I'm guessing this is a gym you attend, not work at, because you must know by now not to stick your pen in company ink.

Step 1: Talk to them. Get their name. Make a joke. "What name do I yell when I start drowning?" Play it by ear. No insults (EX: You sure you can pull me out of the pool?)

Step 2: Talk to them some more next time you see them. Say hello, good morning, whatever is appropriate, and use their name. Using their name is vital. If they use yours, they cared enough to remember it. If they care but forgot, they'll ask (Both cases, you'll probably get an IOI as well.) If they don't ask and don't use your name, you're probably just another customer they have to be nice to because they're on the clock... Cut your losses, stay friendly.

Step 3: If step 2 went well, just ask her if she wants to grab a drink some time. You know how this works. Get a number and a time.

Don't creep their schedule. Don't follow them to their car. Don't hang around for more than a minute or two. Don't distract them. Generally, don't interfere.

It's hard to imagine that you can't comprehend how monumentally stupid your idea is. I'd its not getting fired that's an issue, what about the legal ramifications of a sexual harassment claim?

To make it clear I don't work at this gym, I just got a membership for the summer while I'm back in my hometown. I'm leaving for college in a few weeks anyways. Not too much to lose here.
