Get used to people talking about you. The better someone gets, the more they get noticed. The more someone is noticed, the more they are talked about both positively and negatively. Do you have tabloids in your country? Are you familiar with the paparazzi?

Your height could be worse and you are lucky to be above average height in your country. Learn to accept your height, I am 5'8" and from a country with on the average the tallest people so it could be worse.

About the boots, why? What is it that 1.5" going to practically give you? Even due you claim to be confident, to me wearing boots with your intention doesn't show that.
