Background

So I just transferred to a new college, and I'm having a blast with all of the women here. I have a girlfriend already, but she's perfectly okay with me spinning plates on the side.

So a female friend of mine talked me up to one of her friends, who was interested in meeting me. We met last week, and she gave a lot of IOIs. I tried to have a coffee date with her, but things went awry.

School just started a week ago and my mom is still here from helping me move, so I haven't had too much of a chance to sleep with anyone but I have a couple more plate-irons in the fire besides this one. But I particularly like her, she's very cute and we get along well.

Yesterday: Setting up the date

Me: "I'm done with class around 4 tomorrow, come grab a coffee or a bite to eat with me afterwards. I'll include you in my plans this time :p" - I was supposed to meet with her last week, but she took too long to get back to me and I made other plans. She shit tested me a little when I told her I moved on to something else.

Her: "Lettuce grab coffee tomorrow :)"

Me: "Sounds good If you can meet me by the music building at 4 we can use my car. Also I'd like you better because I won't have to carry my instrument around.."

No response to that, but she's also on the cross-country team so I just assumed she went to bed.

Today

So I hung out with some friends of mine around the music building until 4:30. Still hadn't heard from her, so I gave her a call while walking to a different building on campus (closer to the center, has the food court). No answer.

Saw another friend of mine, hung out with him for a while, called her again at 5 and no answer. Left her a message saying I was going to do something else.

The girl who originally introduced me to potential plate told me 1) potential plate canceled on her as well, they were supposed to study together later in the day 2) potential plate sent her a text saying she was hanging out with some girls from the cross country team.

Meanwhile, she hasn't bothered to call me back or text me anything. So I waited a few hours and texted her this

Me: "Hey if you didn't want to get coffee or if something came up you could have just told me.. Or answer my calls or text me back. Going radio silent is pretty rude, not a good way to treat someone. Anyway, good luck with whatever you're doing. See you around." - Advice for this? I still want to be polite the next time I have to send a message like this to someone, but I don't want to mince words either. It's my personal choice to continue being polite after she disrespected me this way, I don't want to go causing problems with anyone but I'm not going to pretend everything is okay either. But I'm sure I could have said this.. Better?

Her: "Woah woah woah. Okay okay. I was super busy today and I texted you asking if I could take a rain check but I guess I never really sent the message. Yes I feel bad, and I know you probably don't want to hear it but I'm sorry."

Me: "I'm with [other friend she canceled on] now, come to the dining hall and have dinner with everyone then"

Her: "Well I'm with some of my teammates and their helping me with some hw."

Me: "Yes I know you are.. Guess you should get your phone checked, because I called you a few times. Don't worry about it, have fun with your friends. If you want a rain check that's in your hands.. Just give me a call, I'm around"

So I kind of wish I didn't say "Just give me a call, I'm around", but there's some context to that. I've told her before that I'm very busy when I'm on campus, and I did make other plans last week when she took too long to get back to me (She texted me "WTF?!?" when I told her she took too long). I'm "the friendliest person on campus", so she knows I have 1) a host of other social options 2) a host of other girl options. Also she knows I commute and live an hour away, so I'm not there ALL the time... Still wish I didn't say that, but with that context I think the damage isn't so bad.

I will leave her alone for now. If she decides to reach out to me I would probably invite her along to one of my pre-existing plans (unless she has the foresight to reach out to me a few days in advance, I always have plans or am busy). We run in some of the same social circles, so I'll see her around.

So in the immediate future I'll be spending my efforts building a better relationship with some of my other possibilities, and I'm still trying to meet new women. That part is easy for me, I studied abroad for a year and had to learn to flirt with girls in another language so flirting in English doesn't scare me anymore haha.

My girlfriend will be moving down from our home state in two weeks to join me in the state my new school is in.

My mom is leaving next week so I can bringing girls home to my condo.
