I had joined the military a few months ago.
I just got out of basic and am now in school to learn my job.
In basic, and I'm starting to see the beginnings of it now I received a lot of disrespect from my peers, with the biggest one that got under my skin was being told 'shut-up', but it goes beyond that obviously.
At basic it was only men especially the 'student leaders', but now that the genders are integrated I'm starting to see it a bit from the women as well. I do not know if it's something about me or my personality, or whatever.
At any rate... How do I squash it before it goes any further? Mind you, being a member of the military I can't threaten with violence or say something obscene. Should I snitch and let the system run its course? Idk.
Perhaps I'm a pussy and don't know how to interact with people, you never really know what's wrong with yourself but everyone else can see it right away.
If it matters: Physically, I'm taller and in much better shape than these people (been lifting since 2013).
Don't ask for specifics about service, job, etc... Hence the throwaway (I'm convinced the wifi that we pay for in the on base housing is monitored).
