Accept reality and kickass with the reality that you now know to be true, realize you can’t change a thing, so there’s no reason to be depressed.

The next stage is acceptance. Depending on how bad the depression is, it could take some time. Read through the side bar. Lots of information there. I've found that working out can improve one's mood however if you can get into a regimented habit. Start going for a jog or lifting some weights every few days? Pick up a new hobby that you've always been interested in learning perhaps?

Oh no who knew that the male and female genders have different strategies and different behaviors? Oh snap this is blowing my mind and forcing me into a horrible depression!

What I'm wondering here is have you ever seen birds before? You know male birds are colorful and do mating display while female birds are brown so they can sit on eggs.
