A lot of people have that problem, that’s why it’s important to make friends everywhere you go. Get to know a chef at a restaurant and make friends with the waiter, next time they’ll greet you and it’ll make you feel much more comfortable.

That is classic codependency, a lot of people don't realize they have it. Really fucks you up with women cause you get sucked into another's frame for need for validation. There is a good book I've been reading on it called Codependency No More.

There is a psychology term for that but I can’t recall what it is called. Basically when you’re in a group you’re not as embarrassed when you do goofy things because the embarrassment is passed onto all of you and you guys usually just find it funny where as if you were alone and you got shut down by a girl or did something stupid it would just be embarrassing.

Have you ever watched a broadcast team? There's a reason they have someone there that they can trust and banter off of.

My advice is to not obsess too much about it. Social circle game beats solo game in most instances. And I say that as a guy who loves rolling solo.

If you have to go out solo, practice insinuating yourself into groups you don't know. A simple "What is that?" is often all it takes. "What exercise are you doing?" "What beer are you drinking?" "What dance move is that?" "What kinda car is that?" "What's under the hood?"

Answer don't matter. Just the initial engagement.
