Do you guys think that getting involved with math, algebra, geometry makes us more rational minded?

When I was preparing for uni exams, the two of the main subjects were math and geometry. At that time I was very good at both and now when I look back, I see that at those days I was more rational rather than emotional. Right now at university, I study different subjects.

So, do you have such kind of experiences? What do you guys think about this?
