Since the gyms closed down, I ordered a pair of 45 pound dumbells and a pair of 75 pound dumbells. I also had a set of 20 pount dumbells at home so this is all the equipment I have had. I have started a split program Monday - Thursday focusing on Chest/Back, Arms, Legs/Abs, and Shoulders each day. Are dumbell only workouts as effective as going to the gym and being able to use cables, power racks, etc.? Right now, I'm about 5'11 190 pounds 20% body fat so I've started cutting as of this week, eating around 2000-2500 calories a day while burning 300 calories by using a stationary bike. Do you think it makes sense to cut for me when I don't have access to the gym and only have dumbells to maintain lean muscle tissue? My main fear is that I'm going to lose the muscle I've gained over the bulk and want to have the perfect diet/gym routine before I start the cut. On the other hand, I do have excess weight to lose so I'm not sure what to do.
