Anyways, he point is you stepped out your comfort zone and did your thing. Win or lose you faced a challenge. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Your friends aint about shit.

Good job mate. Been there done that (not RB though,stand up) ate a bag of dicks the first time, killed it the second.

my advice would be.

Do more.
Prep hard. Put the best material you can. Write daily. Be brutal with your edits.
Practice your shit. Record yourself. Practice your material like you're on stage. Do this 1000 times.

Point is, put 100% effort, that will minimize the chance of bombing next time.

Hey bro, I did the same in stand-up. First time, killed, open mic, second through fourth died trying.

I mean completely failed, my friends ragged, my girls ragged, the crowd was silent, like didn't even bother heckling, the other comedians are the only ones who didn't rag on me.

Fifth I crushed again. It was really a matter of sticking around long enough to understand where my frame was, what I should be joking about.

The first set I had five minutes dedicated, they extended to seven. I was doing quick set up for inside jokes among my friends. Probably only eight real punch lines throughout the seven minutes, at most. Setup was my thing.

Then I got stupid, or curious, I tried political, no dice. Tried dirty, no dice. Tried social media and music, no dice.

Turned out my best comedy, and the inside jokes my friends laughed at that I could easily set up, were based on trying and failing. Mocking our previous failures because we succeeded later. Hind sight comedy. Everyone can relate if they've had any real experience at growing better at something they sucked at.

This is highly relevant because your friends, they're not in the arena. They're not even trying. Yeah you have to sort of suck at something to become sort of good at it, but if you don't fail you can't win.

Get back up there. You'll be fine.
