i can tell you are not completely well and confident to be asking how old a girl is as your opener. This whole exchange is just, just completely terrible. Just have a normal conversation.

I get what youre trying to do with the "that doesnt mean I can't ask" but you gotta have a certain vibe and aura, and a way to say that shit (and you pretty much get a pass if youre good looking), but goddamn everything is just weird. Work on your aura and presence, the awareness, and especially confidence.

You cant pull off that "smirk that doesnt mean I can't ask" bruh, you're not at that level. Just talk like a normal human being. Stop doing theatrics. THats the first mistake I see beginners do, they see all tehse pickup artists or "how to get HER TO RESPOND" videos and they use these kind of replies, like you can't use that shit if you don't own it. You clearly don't. Just strike a normal convo next time first, I'd reccomend to you as a beginner. None of the theatrics, its clear you can't pull it off.

She might of got a little weirded out by the "how old are you" question out of the blue but it was a decent attempt overall for first time. Biggest thing is you got out there and did it, good job.

A lot of things depends on your confidence level/the way you say it but I tend to go more along the lines of "why don't you gimme your number, and we can grab a drink" after a few back and forths rather then "could I get your number." Show's a higher level of confidence.

In terms of "game", was not text book.. They say you can open with anything but how old are you seems like cringe to open with still.. Whatever you could of still overcome it but after that you go straight away for number?

You never really were in, like you never hooked.. Not sure if was in a rush but You are suppose to trade a couple lines, tease a little, make an observation here and there then close.. If she has a bf she will most likely mention at some point early on and you say your line there.

Read a game book or two, they are usually like 100-150 pages, you can read in one sitting quick. Start with Bang/Day bang by Roosh. It can atleast point you in right direction

Don't ask this. It's weird. If you wanna open indirect ask about something like the weather or where something is. Think like this. You're a random stranger to this girl. For what reason would you wanna walk up and ask her a question like that?

I would have chatted with her for a bit more before trying to close on that number. Remember, you're a stranger. You wanna make this interaction fun and not come off like a crazy person.

Keep chipping at it tho. At least you're doing the work and that on it's own will make it better.

You asked for the number without playing any game at all and didn't demonstrate any value. Dude this was terrible. Openers dont matter hugely, but "how old are you?" is terrible.
