I have been going out alone for the past weeks. The first night was a little hard to know what to do.

Just start talking to people randomly both outside and inside wherever you are going, to warm up.

If you want to make friends just join some social activity, any sport or martial art, gym,....

Sure I do it often. I'll make casual conversation with the bartender and then make some off-handed joke to the nearest person. After people see that I'm social (building social value) I then approach the women I'm attracted too. Practice this at least 5x.

I go out alone two or three times a month to practice meeting people. It can be really hit or miss, some nights I have a blast and talk to all sorts of people and some nights are slow and I only stay out for an hour or two without meeting anyone interesting. Just don't be afraid to do what you want, and don't have any expectations for the night, like having to hook up with someone. Just go to have fun.

You won't meet any girl that is not a complete slut on the bar. Never ever. Use tinder if you are good loking (7.5/10 or more) or try a daygame - just to getting her number/setting up date.
