Help choosing career

Law is being overcome by bots. Literal document scanners and report-writers. Unless you've got family who can get you into a practice you're going to spend a lot of time at the bottom. That's assuming you can get a job in law.

Psychology is full of crazies. People tend to know they've got problems, even if they can't admit it. That's why psychology gets a lot of overweights, rape survivors, and general neurotics. Plus, it's more like biology than psychotherapy. STAY AWAY.

Economics is your best bet if you've got the right brain. But even better is applied economics. E.g. marketing or accounting. What do you mean touchingsound? I mean make sure the degree you've got equates to real-world employability. Knowing and identifying charts of labour prices rising and falling sounds like knowledge, but it isn't. It's just as useless as an English degree and is only fit for sending you right back to High School. To teach.

'Applied' means 'being used somehow'. Like engineering = applied physics.

Once you get to an interview you have to have some sort of portfolio to show what you're capable of. You can't do that with a primarily theoretical field of study. Why do you think no one hires gender studies grads?

Even better is STEM, but if you don't have the brain for it don't blame yourself. Very, very few people actually do.

So go for skilled economic work. Something that ACTUALLY gets you a job. Also, get a shitload of extra-curricular activities under your belt. That's usually what gets you the interview.

I studied psychology, not many careers you can get out of it and it's ran by feminists. I ended up working in finance so it's not impossible in achieving a great career, just harder.

Stick with economics, behavioural economics has some overlap with psychology. There's better job prospects with economics also.

The correct answer is. Whatever you want.

However, college is a grand waste of time unless you know specifically what you want to do. If you don't know what you want to do, you can never go wrong with a hard science, engineering degree. The same can be said for the medical field.

And if you really want to do law, definitely get an engineering degree or a law degree. Patent lawyers, and intellectual property attorneys make the money.

I can't speak for econ or finance. I would never have studied this stuff, as I would have ended up wearing a suit for the rest of my life.

I am an electrical engineer, and I love it. Great salary, and I can do a lot of different stuff with this degree. If I wanted to work in finance, all things being equal, I would get the job over the Economics undergraduate guy.

I am biased obviously because i hate dressing like a corporate clown. And I already know what an engineering degree offers at the end of the rainbow.
