You can do a two in one here. Get fit and make friends!

Start a martial art. Karate/Aikido/Boxing/MMA anything! The men at these places usually go for a pint together after, usually just one - they often golf together or football or something too (in my experience with different clubs).

While I REFUSE to debate Aikido's effectiveness ever, because there's no winning unless someone tries it - I heartily recommend Aikido - if there's a club near you drop along and learn something new.

This is going to be the best way, there are other ways to meet people but it takes a bit more effort.

in addition to what everyone says. you could try meetup.com groups. also, amp up tinder game, and invite like 20 women to do anything you're interested in, and flake on all but your favorite.

I don't know your age, but more than martial arts, I'd recommend a young professional's club. Networking will serve your career and your personal life. While it's important to stay fit, no doubt, you're gonna need a job to afford membership. And you can use social networking sites to find friends too. Look for local groups on facebook, go to a tweet-up, etc. Meetup.com has groups that meet for varied interests.

Ive been meaning to ask this question myself because I plan to move yet again and am older as fuck and we all know as you get older the harder it gets to make long-form connected "bro" friends over acquaintances.

My contribution is already there which is basically start a martial arts activity. I suppose as well Ive had success with pickup soccer/basketball games and looking for meetups nearby. Also, the gym isnt so bad but you have to go there regularly and if you go enough you might meet too many people that'll itll end up messing up dedication to your work out.

Also, a secondary theory Im thinking about is getting into side projects such as acting as a part time extra. I know one of my naturally alpha friends used to do this in his early 20s and he met and hung with a couple of people. Also because he was naturally alpha he ended up linking with some semifamous folk briefly

Prepare yourself to be really uncomfortable for a week. Go out alone and meet people for a week. Endure the discomfort or swallow loneliness and buy cats.
