It doesn't matter what she wants. Thinking like that puts you in her frame and unconsciously changes your behaviour. Maybe she wants a bit of sympathy, maybe she wants a lot of security. Maybe what she needs is some fun and happiness to take her mind off things and move on.

But getting what she wants is her responsibility, not yours.

I would give her plenty of love, affection and understanding, just as I would with any friend going through a rough patch.

But through my actions, I would show that I have my own life and am not looking for a girlfriend. She will either accept that or she won't.

What you should do is tell her to get professional help. That girl has obviously not taken that trauma well, and trying to drown the sorrow in indulging with other men will not help her, it will break her. This is your chance to truly become a better man and stop having sex with her, not for your own benefit, but to help a fellow human. It's your call whether to continue fucking her.

Having a partner (boyfriend or girlfriend) die can really screw with your head. I had an ex die, and even though we had been broken up for over two years by then, I was completely overwhelmed by some sort of weird regret. For a while I kept thinking about all the things left unsaid between us, things that I would never get to say, made me think of all the good memories we had shared and now I was the only one carrying them. In a weird way it made me gain a different appreciation for people and it made me reach out to girls in my past, for some just to check if they're OK and for others to get a nostalgia fuck from them.

In my case, it eventually passed and I'm sure it will pass for her too, but I will tell you that once I got over it, I once again lost touch with all the girls in my past. So it's all a question of principle: do you want to get your dick wet with a vulnerable girl who is currently looking for sympathy? Are you hoping for a bigger thing? At some point she will want to move on and cut ties with the past (and you are one of those ties) but I don't know but maybe if you play your cards right, she might be completely yours. However you will always know that it was her ex's death that bonded you.
